IT’S TIME TO MESMER-EYES A universally loved make-up style is a classic smoky eye. Here are some tips on how to create a flattering make-up look for every eye shape…
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, £29, Harvey Nichols
Close set eyes: to gain balance use a lighter shade half way across the eye and a darker shade toward the ends.
Deep set eyes: take a fluffy brush and buff your eyeshadow above the socket, widening and enhancing the eyes.
ROSE’S TOP TIPS Whatever your face shape, accentuate the angles of your face using a luminous highlighter. Becca’s Champagne Pop is one of the best powders for a dewy, glowing finish, and soon they will unveil a dual blush and highlighter variation. Speaking of blusher, I love to mix two together for a youthful, glowing complexion. Take a dusky shade along the entire cheek to mimic a natural skin flush, and add a pop of brighter colour to the apples of the cheeks. This subtle addition will brighten the complexion. As for sealing it in place? Don’t forget a light dusting of powder, especially down the t-zone, to finish your foundation. One of the best universal choices is Laura Mercier’s Translucent Powder.

My favourite beauty tip when it comes to skin is to gently pick out any freckles or moles at the very end of your make-up. If you wear a full coverage foundation, picking out these freckles or moles cheats the illusion that you are barely wearing any make-up. Besides these little marks are what makes us who we are; I love celebrating them. Use a light brown pencil like MAC Cosmetics Lip Liner in Stripdown to get the look.
Wide set eyes: create a spotlight smoky eye. Use a light shade on the centre of the lids and a darker on the corners.

Hooded eyes: using one single shade of your choice over the whole eye will give the illusion of larger eyes.
