One thing is for certain, there will be a party season this year. Many of you have already made the most of holidays abroad, cruises and re-scheduled events. I have a feeling the party season is going to kick off early to make sure we can fit it all in. Enjoy the inspiration in these pages and remember there is so much more to see in store.

ItWelcome!hasbeen a long hot summer, one in which we have been able to get maximum wear out of our summer wardrobes. Hallelujah! We feel justly rewarded and refreshed from the sunshine. Recharged and ready to take on the autumn and winter days ahead. I remember buying the collections that are coming in store now and getting over excited about what the brands were offering. A nod to past decades of fashion being brought bang up to date for the way we live today. We’ve had a few years of loungewear, now is the time to smarten things up. Don’t panic though, as with all fashions, the brands give us time to adjust. We can embrace the wide trouser and jacket look; we can move back into shoes and not spend our whole life in sneakers; but fashion today is all about choice. We have the choice to wear jeans and joggers if that is what our lifestyle dictates but we also have the choice to wear a suit, a dress, a high heel, if that is what we wish.

The popularity of Dea Kudibal continues to grow with you lovely ladies, so we are delighted to have the brand back in store for the autumn season. The stretch silk blouses and dresses have become a basic in our wardrobe – it is almost a staff uniform for the team here at Anne Furbank. Here’s a little bit of history behind this fabulous brand. back for another season

It was founded by Dea Kudibal, a fashion graduate, in 2003 with a collection of exclusive scarves and shawls made from vintage fabrics. It wasn’t until 2008 that the first clothing line was born. The stretch silk has become a signature for Dea Kudibal. It has a luxury feel but is also very durable, including being fully washable. The collections give you the opportunity to create your own Dea Kudibal look whether it is feminine, edgy or casual. Each season the exclusive prints are designed in Copenhagen. You know you are getting a piece of clothing that has had thought, love and care given to it throughout its creation.

Vintage Trends making a comeback...

Anne Furbank Fashion 6

Luisa Cerano A great example of bold colour with the simplicity of styling creating effortless elegance. Wide trousers and soft knits with the punch coming from the electric blue colourway.

2022 has seen that more than ever with inspiration drawn from the 70s and 80s. You saw it in the summer with boho flowing maxi dresses in pretty floral prints. The look of these dresses worn with sneakers became as essential as a pair of jeans in our wardrobe.

Fashion has a habit of looking back on itself and re-inventing past trends and creating modern new looks that then, in time, become iconic fashion looks themselves.

Moving into the new autumn collections the vintage trend continues, with wide fluid trousers maybe the odd flared jean, leather and suede, pussy bows and hints of bold lettering. The colours are vibrant - bright orange, electric blue and apple greens that won’t get lost in your wardrobe.

“This season gives you the opportunity to be daring, original, playful and strong but stay true to yourself.”

Oui – Rebel At Heart is maybe a little too dramatic as a collection name but the principle is based on clean monochrome colours of black and ivory punctured with strong accent colours of orange and deep turquoise. It plays on those vintage trends with hints of bold lettering and playful prints. It is a little cheeky, maybe a little rebellious but it will certainly give your confidence a boost this autumn.

So, can you carry off this trend if you remember doing it first time round?

The simple answer is yes. It’s new, it’s not the same as the first time round. It gives a nod to those fashion looks but it is new for 2022. The brands that we work with understand so much more about what women want and we understand you. You can be modern without looking ridiculous, you can be comfortable without looking sloppy, you can be stylish without being over structured. This season gives you the opportunity to be daring, original, playful and strong but stay true to yourself.

Autumn 2022

3. Don’t wear and wash Assuming your day was free of stains, spills and sweat, you can wear your cashmere more than once. Wearing a base layer to protect it like the Marc Cain 2nd skins also helps.

Winter Wardrobe Staple

Cashmere is one of winter’s staple fabrics and for good reason -it’s warmth to weight ratio.

1. Cashmere is washable Hand washing your cashmere items is always your best bet. You can put it in the washing machine briefly but remember two things. 1. any form of heat will shrink it; and 2. regular detergent is too harsh - use a cashmere detergent.

2. Lay flat. Be patient Cashmere is at its most delicate when the fibers are wet, so this is the stage that requires the most care. The cardinal rule here is no wringing. Gently press excess water out of your garment by placing it on a dry towel and carefully roll it up. Once the towel has absorbed as much of the moisture as possible, shape the garment and lay it flat in a shady spot to dry.

4. Shave Knits made from natural fibres can pill (form fuzz balls) in areas where friction occurs, such as under the arms. Pilling occurs most frequently when cashmere is brand new. Washing can reduce the effect of pilling or use a cashmere comb to keep yours fuzz-free, but be gentle.

Make Your Cashmere Last a Lifetime Cashmere is a long-lasting fibre with claims being made that this paper-thin yarn can last up to 30 years. That may be a little optimistic but as long as you treat your cashmere with care it should keep you cosy for years. Follow our tips to make it last:

8 Anne Furbank Fashion

Quality cashmere is light, fine and said to be eight times warmer than sheep’s wool. It offers maximum toastiness with minimum bulkiness. You will find cashmere in a number of our brands but one brand we have worked with for over 20 years, which has continued to produce high quality cashmere sweaters, is Repeat. The Swiss brand was established in 1978 and has a long history of working with cashmere, using only the finest of fibres from the underbelly of the goat. This autumn collection continues to provide classic styles for your wardrobe, as well as introducing some trend led elements to add interest.

New for autumn 2022 is Brodie Cashmere, a British family business with its heart in Yorkshire, which has a long history and link to the textile industry. Brodie is a member of the Sustainable Fibre Alliance, ensuring that the farming of cashmere does not impact on the natural resources from which it comes. The Brodie collection for this autumn hits you with bold neon colours and fun prints, all produced in the softest of cashmere.

New to the shop this autumn is the delightful Turtle Doves range. Another British brand that works with cashmere, but this one was born out of a desire to use pre-loved garments and fabrics to create the range. Founder Kate Holbrook launched the product in 2009 with a small range of wrist warmers and fingerless gloves, which she sold at the school fête. It simply grew from there. All the products are made from pre-owned, fabric whether that is donations from friends, purchases from charity shops or waste from textile merchants. It is a 360° approach to fashion and a focus on sustainability rather than waste. You will find the range of supersoft cashmere in store: Gloves £29, Headband £19, Beanie £35. Pre-loved Gloves “Quality cashmere is light, fine and said to be eight times warmer than sheep’s wool.”

A Year full of Weddings

10

Anne Furbank Fashion

It has been a mammoth year for weddings! With postponements from the last two years, 2022 has been full of joyous celebrations. There have been parties and enormous wedding ceremonies. There have been weddings abroad, at home, in fields or at fabulous wedding venues - and so it continues into the autumn. We do ceremony very well in the UK, with everyone making the most of the chance to dress up. Many of our occasion wear brands are UK based designers and they have pulled out all the stops to continue to deliver collections right throughout the year to keep those celebrations as glamorous as ever. Veni Infantino is one such brand that produces garments, from classic tailored looks to romantically soft flowing dresses. The incredible creator behind the brand, Veni, credits her fashion genes to her Italian grandmother but that natural passion was honed at the London College of Fashion. She truly understands the need for comfort and style and is hands on at every stage of the process, from design and production through to catwalk shows and photography.

Similarly Veromia, another British brand, has dresses that are truly feminine, introducing net underskirts to add volume, or sculpting shift silhouettes that skim the body. Although relatively new to the market, Vermonia designers and brand manager have a long background in the occasionwear market and have produced a collection that is fun and exciting.

11 Autumn 2022

Joseph Ribkoff has launched a new Signature range - an elevated look for those truly special occasions. It has already been a great success judging by your response to the summer collection. Those that know Joseph Ribkoff were delighted and it opened a whole new world for those new to the brand.

Anne Furbank Fashion SIGNATURE

The autumn range continues to fulfill all our wardrobe needs but the Signature range is on point for the party season ahead. It has glamour, fun, glitz and a feminine touch. From little black dresses to sequin co-ordinates. You will want to accept every invitation that comes your way this autumn.

We have been working with Joseph Ribkoff for over 15 years and the styling and fit is second to none. It works on all body shapes and sizes and has filled wardrobes with everything from holiday separates to party dresses. The Signature range has taken it to another level and provides wonderful outfits, not only for guests at weddings but mothers of the bride and groom as well as full blown Ascot outfits.

‘Sarah Pacini – A way of life, a way of expression’

Autumn 2022

NEW BRAND 13

We are delighted to welcome to the store the international brand, Sarah Pacini. Launched over 30 years ago in Belgium, this predominantly knitwear brand, brings art, design and fashion together. It is modern and contemporary, with unique styles that have a quirky design with a feminine edge. It gives the wearer the opportunity to have an individual style and ease of elegance and confidence. It is mainly made in Italy using the finest yarns and creative techniques. To aid the simplicity of wearing, it comes in one size only, again adding to that individual styling, depending on your body shape and size.

Stay warm this winter

14

There is something sumptuous about wrapping up against the elements in a warm winter coat. Luckily for you, coats (and boots) are a bit of weakness of MD, Rebecca, so there is always going to be a great choice in store.

The best winter coats provide the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. They need to tick a lot of boxes: versatile, warm, practical and stylish. We’ve had a number of winters where the puffa coat has dominated and although this domination continues this winter, shearlings, leathers and colourful wool coats also make an appearance.

You can go for the simplicity of a wool coat but opt for some bold colours or checks this season – it will make you smile every time you wear it. You can choose to have a little bit more fun with faux furs - again go for a colour. Or choose a leather sheepskin coat as a nod back to the 70s. Reversible coats give you two options in one, usually quilted on one side and furry on the other. Quilts and puffa jackets are still around this season and are unlikely to go away. The filling, whether down or thinsulate, gives you true warmth as well as being light and comfortable to wear. Look for interesting design features on these more sporty styles to elevate your look without compromising the practicality and wearability. Many of our collections offer coats this winter with prices starting from £129 upwards.

Like all clothes, you are not going to get one coat that fits all occasions, so when looking for a winter coat think about your priorities. Do you need a smarter one for work or special occasion or are you looking to walk the dog in it?

Hiking and biker boots have become a trend which suits the brand perfectly but they also offer styles that are much sleeker in design whilst retaining all the practical elements.

Using nature’s own design against the elements, the natural products of sheepskin and wool make their boots hardwearing, comfortable, versatile and sustainable. Their waterproof technology will ensure your feet are protected and kept warm against all the elements.

Autumn 2022 15

Happiness doesn’t depend upon who you are or what you have – it solely depends on having warm feet.

Cosy Toes

You can layer up against the cold in the winter but there is nothing more miserable than having cold feet. The solution is Emu Australia. Now with us for our third winter season, it has revolutionised the lives of dog walkers, pitch side supporters, intrepid travellers and those who simply like the outdoors.

16 Trouser Day Saturday 15th October, 10am – 5pm Fashion Show In Store at 11am

Key Trouser Trends

With two specialised trouser brands, Toni and Brax, that have been producing trousers in all shapes and sizes for over 100 years, we are pretty sure we will be able to help you find your perfect bottom. Whether you are straight up and down, a little more ‘fluffy’ around the middle or have curvy hips, we have trousers to cover most body shapes. We are also delighted that we will be joined by Cathy, from Toni, whom many of you know, to show you the different shapes, styles and fabrics for the winter season.

Trouser shapes are going through a transition stage, which is good news for everyone. Skinny trousers and jeans have dominated for years and they are still here this season, with the fabrics getting even softer and more stretchy to add to the comfort. We’ve seen the more relaxed shapes coming through in jeans, with the new ‘Mom’ fit giving a straighter shape on the leg and a little more forgiving over the thigh. Boot leg cuts are creeping into the ranges and have the ability to balance out the hips, if that is where you carry your Joggerweight.style trousers are still with us but again the brands have cleverly designed them to make it possible to dress up or down depending on your footwear and what you team them with. Don’t automatically assume that if they have a tie waist they can only be worn with trainers!

Probably the most significant introduction this season is the high waist trouser. This goes hand in hand with a move towards smarter looks. If they have pleats they are subtle enough not to add bulk.

In summary it is a great season for the trouser wearer as the choice is yours to make.

We are delighted to see the return of our ‘Autumn Trouser Day’. Probably the most difficult item of clothing that we buy in terms of finding a fit and style that suits our body shape.
