S U S P E N S ION T E C HNO LOG Y _ With the new FOX system, we not only connect Shock and Fork uniquely but also provide the most advanced suspension system on the market. For over a decade SCOTT engineers have designed suspension systems that provide the rider with command of their bikes’ attitude on trail. The first Traction Control (TC) systems offered a revolutionary three-mode system that controlled the rear suspension and consequent geometry, or attitude, of the bicycle with a handlebar mounted switch. Continuing the legacy of allowing the rider to choose which mode was best for the current trail conditions, as opposed to “smart” suspension systems that are SUPPOSED to do that for you, we developed the TwinLoc system which paired the front and rear suspension control, allowing for simultaneous lockout of the front and rear suspension and two unique travel modes with distinctive geometry for each. TwinLoc once again offered Total Control of the suspension via handlebar- mounted switch allowing easy access to the rider. To distinguish our Nude technology and gain acceptance in the consumer market we formed a strategic partnership with FOX to implement unique SCOTT technologies into a proven damper. For the latest iteration of suspension technology, we partnered with FOX to develop the FOX Nude rear shock with CTCD technology. Three modes, Climb, Traction Control and Descend, are all powered by a FOX damper to create the highest quality, most fully developed suspension system on the planet. FOX Nude Rear Shock Our FOX Nude is the result of our successful partnership with FOX. The Nude Project is a combination of both, SCOTT’s unique patents and technology as well as FOX’s suspension performance and experience. The goal was to create a rear shock that gains maximum performance in every riding situation while remaining lightweight. The FOX Nude works exclusively with our patented TwinLoc system and comes stock on both 27.5” and 29” versions. This new shock is a completely development with the most advanced air spring and damping system. It features positive air volume micro-adjust with replaceable volume reducers custom tuned for each model and size. Both travel modes have separate damper settings relative to their travel length and effective forces. When collecting data for the shock project, we also calculated rider input data, including forces such as the rider’s gyro-scoping pedal stroke and its’ effects on the suspension. We simulated a rider’s pedaling and jerky motions made while pedaling or clearing obstacles, and measured their influence on the suspension. Many other designs assume that a rider is static and coasting, or they only include acceleration forces on the suspension and drivetrain. We are more concentrated on suspending the movement of the rider instead of negating pedaling forces. The FOX Nude features a low profile rebound control and mode control pulley for uninterrupted access to water bottles. The lightest FOX Nude shock weight (6.5×1.5”) is 260g. The FOX Nude CTCD shock has 3 modes: 1. Descend = Full air volume, supple damping 2. Traction Control = Reduced volume,travel and geometry change, increased damping 3. Climb= Reduced Volume with locked out damping
