In many ways, putting out a newspaper each week is an interactive process. We need your participation to do our job, so we offer you, our readers, a reminder of how and when to reach us. For news of upcoming events sponsored by civic, service, religious or community organizations, the deadline is 10 a.m. the Friday before publication. We also welcome news of your family life, your business life and your social life. We accept obituaries and Neighbors in the News items, including awards, honors, births, graduaincluding awards, honors, births, graduations, marriages and promotions. These items are printed at no charge to you. We value your opinions, and provide a forum for them in our popular Letters to the Editor space. Letters are accepted until 10 a.m. the Monday before publication, and should be no more than 350 words and emailed to msmollins@liherald.com. The Herald also offers tours of its Garden City headquarters and printing plant for schools, scouts and other community groups.
