SCHOOLS ELEMENTARY DISTRICT 24 Valley Stream District 24 educates about 1,100 students in grades K-6. Children attend one of three elementary schools. Historic Brooklyn Avenue School, built in 1907, is the oldest school building still operating in Valley Stream District 24 has a superior outdoor education program. Every fifth-grader takes an overnight trip to Caumsett Park with an enriched curriculum, and every sixth-grader spends one full week at the Ashokan Reservoir in upstate New York in an educational experience to last a lifetime. The district also has a foreign language program and leading edge technology.
