Access to Higher Education Diplomas Studying an Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is ideal if you are aged 19+ years and would like to return to study and/or change career direction, and wish to gain entry to university or advanced vocational training. Access to HE Diplomas are widely accepted by universities as the adult equivalent of A Levels and they help develop the required study skills to progress to higher level study. We offer Access to HE Diplomas in the following subject areas:

• Flexible learning – evening or day-time courses • Employer focussed – our courses are valued by employers • Ofsted Good grading in all categories

Higher Education courses Richmond upon Thames College boasts a niche provision of higher education courses focussing on graphic design, engineering and construction, sports science, early years and IT. The majority of students are either in work or find employment as a result of studying our higher education courses. Our higher education courses provide an excellent opportunity to develop essential skills for higher level work which could improve career prospects.

We are delighted that QAA recognised the college’s efforts to ensure that all HE students have a good experience and that the college meets expectations in all respects of the quality review criteria. We offer higher education courses in the following subject areas:

• Art & Design (Graphic Design)

Art & Design Foundation Diploma (Pre-BA) Level 3 UAL This course is designed as a transitional year before studying an art and design undergraduate course. Students will develop their portfolios and the appropriate skills required to prepare for higher education. Many students who study this course continue their studies on some of the best art and design degree courses in the country. The above courses are eligible for Advanced Learner Loans (see page 9).
