GETTING IN HER JABZ

osette Rosene is a knockout – literally. In December 2016, Rosene opened Jabz Boxing Fitness for Women in Arcadia – thanks to a Groupon. “I worked in sales for 20 years, most of them as a single mother of three,” says Rosene, noting her position caused her to travel weekly. “When I married my husband in 2008, my kids where still young, so I jumped at the chance to become a full-time mom.” And while she never gave up working out, as she got older, keeping weight off got really hard. “I came across a Groupon in 2012 to try Jabz in Scottsdale and signed up. Within 10 minutes, I was hooked,” Rosene explains. “I lost 30 pounds on my fivefoot-four frame in just months and transformed my entire body.” Impressed, the Scottsdale owners asked Rosene to become a certified trainer for the gym just six months into her membership. After holding the position for three years, an opportunity for Rosene to open her own gym presented itself – and she jumped at it, opening a franchise in her hometown of Arcadia just last month.

Etc.

Congrats on the first month in business! What has been the most challenging part of business ownership? The build-out of the space – We retro-fitted a building on 32nd Street and Indian School. But, it is gorgeous now! How does Jabz work? Punch a bag for an hour? Not at all – our 45-minute workouts, which change daily, combine boxing exercises with cardio, strength training and even plyometrics. Sure we PUNCH and KICK a lot, but we also use full body exercises and mix in cardio to help you get into shape, fast.
