The Taste of Cave Creek promises to be the biggest in the town’s history

Now in its 25th year, The Taste of Cave Creek has grown into one of the Valley’s premier foodie must-dos of the fall. With more than 8,000 guests expected, the twoday event continues to expand, adding new elements year after year. “The Taste of Cave Creek will once again be held at Stagecoach Village so we can take advantage of the outdoor, openair setting. And, as in recent years, we will have two stages of live music nightly, with acts including The Crown Kings, Fosterson, Jake Dean Band, and Lindsey Vogt,” says Adam Stein, the longtime event chair and Cave Creek town marshal. More than 30 local restaurants are signed on to take part, each sampling from their fall and winter menus for guests both nights of the event. They include Bryan’s Black Mountain Barbecue, Buffalo Chip Saloon & Steakhouse, Cartwright’s Modern Cuisine, Indigo Crow, El Encanto Mexican Restaurant, Harold’s Cave Creek Corral, Le Sans Souci, The Horny Toad, The City Creamery and many more. The event will also feature sampling from more than 25 breweries, including local favorites such as Huss Brewing Co., College Street Brewhouse, SanTan Brewing Company, Grand Canyon Brewing Company, and Dragoon Brewing Co. There will also be several wine-tasting options. Food and drink sample tickets range from $3 to $5. “This year’s event will also feature a new attraction – a competition called the Head to Tail Cook-Off,” Stein says. “Through it, each participating chef will choose an animal to feature, and then they will be cooking and serving up plates in front of guests’ eyes inspired by the animal.” Competitions will take place each evening with judging by local food experts. “The goal of this year’s added feature is to highlight and honor our local ranches and fishermen, and to utilize the whole

animal,” Stein says. “From lamb and salmon to pig and deer, this year’s Taste of Cave Creek is an event you will not want to miss.” A portion of proceeds from The Taste of Cave Creek will benefit Special Olympics Arizona. “In addition, ABC15, in partnership with Sanderson Ford and Sanderson Lincoln, is proud to present the 17th Operation Santa Claus Charity Drive this fall and winter,” says Stein, noting that Sanderson is a longtime sponsor of the event. “In an effort to also help Operation Santa Claus, we are asking that event patrons consider bringing a new toy, a children’s clothing item, a packaged food item, or a monetary donation with them to the event.”
