A TASTE OF THE ORIGINAL TASTE
T
he Original Taste, Arizona’s premier food and beverage celebration, returns to the heart of Old Town Scottsdale April 22. The 42nd annual event offers a breadth of culinary delights from the Valley’s hottest chefs, live entertainment and more — all in support of local youth charities. This year, more than 5,000 guests are expected to come out to sip, savor and stroll along the gorgeous Scottsdale Waterfront while sampling menu items from more than 40 local restaurants, including: Bourbon & Bones, Crab & Mermaid Fish Shop, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, Sushi Roku, Fogo de Chão, SOL Mexican Cocina, Olive & Ivy, Culinary Dropout, Bevvy, Bottled Blonde, Hi Fi Kitchen & Cocktails, Stock & Stable, RnR, Sonata’s Restaurant, and Kaleidoscope Juice. In addition to fine eats, more than 50 wines from around the world, select brands of beer and premium liquor options will be poured, including: Tito’s Vodka and wines by Clos Du Bois, Murphy

Live entertainment will also be on tap throughout the event and in the exclusive VIP area to keep the crowd hoppin’ all night long. Revelers can stick around after the event for Late Night with Executive Council 70, an after-party exclusively offered to VIP Original Taste attendees with live music, spinning DJs and libations. The Original Taste is presented by the members of Executive Council 70 and benefits Executive Council Charities (ECC). This year’s committee includes: Mark Gnirk, Jared Langenhuizen, Scott Boardman, John Richter, Casey Charpio, Ross Steckelberg, Nick Eggen, Alex DeClusin, Regan Amato, and Michael DeNitto. Proceeds from The Original Taste help fund critical youth programs at organizations like Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Ryan House, Foundation for Blind Children, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Jewish Family & Children’s Service, Sojourner Center, New Pathways for Youth, UMOM New Day Centers and Child Crisis Arizona. “This year, the goal of ECC is to raise more than $3 million for these important youth charities,” says marketing chair Casey Charpio. “We’re proud to continue the tradition of presenting an amazing culinary event in the Valley while serving a good cause — helping local children in need.”
