Starting this month, every Friday night, the Arizona Biltmore will host a fun-filled evening at the pool. Slide hours will be extended until 8 p.m., and when the sun sets, swimmers can settle on floats to watch a family-friendly movie in the pool. Upcoming movies include A League of Their Own (Aug. 4), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (Aug. 11); Finding Nemo (Aug. 25), and Field of Dreams (Sept. 1). The event is free for hotel guests. Non-guests can purchase day passes or cabanas through Resort Pass, starting at $60 per child and $75 per adult. www.arizonabiltmore.com.

Let’s Roll: Summer at the Princess Through

Scottsdale Princess Summer will continue to roll on at the Princess, where the 1980s and ’90s are back and cooler than ever. Skate at an outdoor roller rink, game through a vintage arcade and themed laser tag adventure, and get glowin’ at the Neon 9 mini golf course. On the weekend, get jiggy with it at Let’s Glo Pool Parties and Dive-In Movies. Firework shows take place every Saturday night at 9 p.m. Room packages are available with $100 per night room credit. Summer Western Matinees

Aug. 3-31, Western Spirit: Museum of the West pop hits. Shreyas Iyer and Friends (August 19) is an ensemble that blends elements of Indian classical music, jazz, and blues. Every Thursday and Sunday, mosey over to the museum to step back in time to the captivating world of Western cinema. Head on in and experience the bygone era of cowboys, outlaws, and the untamed frontier. Slide the Rails

End the summer with a wet and wild event at the Railroad Park. Slide into the new school year on inflatable water slides and obstacle courses for all ages. There will also be a bubble foam pit, and cold drinks and treats available for purchase. Each Saturday, national, international and local musicians will grace the stage of the Mesa Arts Center. This month, Orange Sky will host an immersive culinary experience that will satisfy all of the senses. Laugh, eat, learn, and join the chef for a cocktail and hands-on participation. The Great Southwest Dinner will introduce attendees to the best the desert has to offer. The experience includes two hours of learning with culinary storytellers, a welcome cocktail and craft cocktail instruction, and a commemorative photo of the experience.
