Armin Buford Couey Armin Buford Couey 93, of Blue River, passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2021, at home surrounded by many who love him and the loving thoughts of those who attended in spirit. He was born October 27, 1927 to Harley and Alma (McKinney) Couey in Richland County, Richwood Township. Armin married the love of his life, Joyce Knoble, on May 20, 1951. He was a gentle, caring man with a sense of humor matched only by close family. His comical antics will be retold for generations to come. He worked tirelessly as a farmer on Oakdale Ranch, the family farm in Richwood Township, his entire life while helping to raise his family. His love of the land and animals, especially his cat Boots, made his life’s work a joy. In later years, being able to help out during spring planting was a blessing he looked forward to each year. He left a pleasant, humorous vibe wherever he traveled. He loved spending time with his family, giving tractor rides to his grandkids, playing games and teaching them to hunt. Armin is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years Joyce; 5 children: Pam (Richard)Rote, Sharon (William)Bremmer, Carey (Lisa)Couey, Dale (Gloria) Couey, Judy (Jeffrey) Hackl; 12 grandchildren: Evie (Nathan) Burke, Cynthia Rote, Brent (Shauna)Schneider, Tara Feick (Robert Phillips), Amanda (Casey) Williamson, John Couey (Samantha), Allan (Alysha) Couey, Daniel (Stephanie)Couey, Dustin (Heather)Couey, Matthew (Jenny)Couey, Benjamin (Brianna)Hackl, Zakary Hackl; 21 great-grandchildren with another due in August; Siblings: Bernard Couey, Iris Brunner, Rosemary Jewell; In laws: Leonard Knoble, Meredith Strang; Many other relatives and friends. Armin was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Robin; siblings, in-laws, and their spouses: Benny Couey, Eugene and Eathel Couey, Carol Couey, Alberta Couey, Gerald Brunner, Roger Jewell, Audrey and Bud Wood, Milton and Ruth Knoble, Millard and Beverly Knoble, Helen Knoble, Myron Strang, Ardith Knoble and Garand Knoble. Memorial services were held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home in Muscoda. Visitation was held on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM and again on Monday, April 12 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. Kenneth A. Kitsembel, age 84, formerly of Five Points, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at home in Sun Prairie, WI. He was born on May 5, 1936 in Avoca, WI, the son of Marvin and Edna (Seiling) Kitsembel. After graduating from Cobb High School in 1955, Ken joined the United States Airforce from 1956 – 1960. Ken married Jean D. Davis on February 18, 1959 in Oklahoma City, OK. Together they farmed for 59 years. After retiring from milking cows, Ken worked at Kaul Tronics and Walmart. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling, square dancing with friends, 4-wheeling, hearing/telling jokes, spending time with family and sledding with the grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean Kitsembel of Sun Prairie; 3 daughters, Venus (Ross) Burrison of Sun Prairie, Starlyn (Kenneth) Miller of Muscoda, Marlys Smith of Waunakee; 7 grandchildren, Michael Burrison (Rachael), Robert (Marlee) Burrison, Jennifer (Tony) Galligan, Ethan (Lisa) Miller, Megan Miller (Skyler), Payton Smith (Sarah), Conner Smith (Katelyn); 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Elaine Ames of California, Vicki Kitsembel of Maryland; a brother, Sonny (Sandi) Rossing of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Gail Kitsembel of California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Donald E. and LeRoy Kitsembel; his beloved granddaughter, Heather Marie Miller; a brother-in-law, William Davis Jr. A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center with Ron Fruit officiating and local military honors unit. Ralph W. “Bill” Shireman, age 74, of Richland Center died Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on September 29, 1945, the son of Ralph Henry and Helen Francis (McNelly) Shireman. On September 1, 1978 he married Philippine “Judy” (Anderson) McBain. Bill was raised on his parents’ farm in Ash Ridge, attending Pleasant View School, and graduating from Viola High School in 1964. Shortly after graduation, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he got his start in the medical field, becoming trained as a medic and a laboratory technician. Bill was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was discharged in 1967, but later re-enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1976. During his service in the U.S. Army Reserves, he was deployed to Germany during Operation Desert Storm, and he served in Guatemala as a part of Task Force Timberwolf. He retired as a Master Sergeant after over 30 years of service to his country. After returning home from his active military service, Bill worked in the lab at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant. He was a laboratory and x-ray technician at the Richland Hospital for 18 years. Bill attended Southwest Technical College and received his L.P.N. degree, and then received his R.N. degree in 1992. He was employed at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison for 29 years, before his retirement in 2014. Bill was an exceptional nurse who enjoyed taking care of other veterans. Bill also served Richland County as a deputy and elected coroner for many years. After retirement, Bill was able to dedicate more time to some of his favorite pastimes: hunting and fishing; visiting his grandchildren and cheering them on at their sporting events; attending auctions; having coffee, doughnuts, and conversations with friends; reading; traveling; and spending time at the farm with his Minneapolis Moline tractors. Bill continued to serve his community as a member of Richland County Crime Stoppers, American Legion Post 13, and the 40 et 8 Voiture 1268. Survivors include his wife Judy Shireman of Richland Center, WI; three children, Rachel (Mark) Turgasen of Richland Center, WI; Rochelle (Joshua) Cornell of Ayase-Shi, Japan; Raquel (Jason) Fry of Dubuque, IA; seven grandchildren; Logan, Delaney, and Landon Turgasen of Richland Center, WI; Behati Cornell of Ayase-Shi, Japan; Elliott, Cameron, and Morgan Fry of Dubuque, IA; three step-children; Cheryl Marshall (Mike Cook) of Richland Center, WI; Charles Jr. (Jennifer) McBain of Bayfield County, WI; Christine (Gregg) Schmitt of Richland Center, WI; seven step-grandchildren, Whitney (Bill) Toney of Cashton, WI; Ashley McBain of Arena, WI; Colt Watson of Madison, WI; Charles III (Grace) McBain of Longmont, CO; Chay, Gabriel, and Grayson Schmitt of Richland Center, WI; step great-granddaughter, Marlena Tony of Cashton, WI; two sisters, Cindy (Leo) Kraft of Solen, ND; Kristi (Joe) Durst of Sextonville, WI; a brother-in-law, Bruce Perkins of Viola, WI; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Darlene Perkins. A Celebration of “Bill’s” life will be held on Saturday, April 17, at 11:00 AM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center with local military graveside rites following at the Richland Center Cemetery. Annabelle Rose Morris Annabelle was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on January 17, 2021 at the age of 81. Ann was born to Gordon and Clara (Sutton) Thomson in Richland County Wisconsin on April 4, 1939. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Jim Morris in Bitburg, Germany. They lived happily in love for 60 years and shared many adventures. Ann was a strong woman of faith. Ann was a devoted servant and was actively involved in many church groups and with her Masonic family. She and Jim also enjoyed traveling the country representing OES. Ann loved music, especially singing classic hymns and Christmas carols. During Operation Desert Storm, Ann was awarded the Department of the Army Commander’s Award for Civilian Service for her dedicated service to family support. Ann loved people and sent thousands of cards to family, friends, and strangers. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Francis Thomson. She leaves behind, her loving husband James Morris, her daughters Debra Borchert (Donald) and Diana Williams (Jeff), seven grandchildren, Jacob Borchert (Rachael), Katherine, Alexander and Andrew Borchert, Matthew and Shelby Williams, and Justin Williams.
