ALICE (KRASKA) MUELLER
December 15, 2018 Alice (Kraska) Mueller 89 passed away December 15, 2018. Alice was born on September 27, 1929 in St. Paul, MN to Arthur and Gertrude (Ulbrich) Kraska and grew up in Richland Center where she raised her 9 children. She graduated from RCHS where she was employed until she devoted many years to raising her family. She was later employed by the Frank Lloyd Wright Museum and NHS which she enjoyed immensely. Her extraordinary creative nature was demonstrated in her many artistic endeavors including painting & designing for the Betty Hayes School of Dance where her 5 daughters studied. Alice was a talented seamstress and loved to write. She was inspired to write a children’s book, “Butterfly at the Mardi Gras” after the birth of her first grandchild. She had a prison newsletter ministry and wrote many letters to the editor. Alice was a loving and dedicated mother to her nine surviving children; Dennis, Donald, Gale, Joel & Jade of Richland Center, Cheryl (Joe Burdick) Williston, FL, Ellen (LaVerne) Hess, Neenah, WI, Heidi (Brian) Tessmann, Ocala, FL, Leah (Christopher) McFarlin, Morriston, FL. She is further survived by her brother William (Bill) Kraska, Richland Center; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray & Harold Kraska, Edna Peckham, Marie (Dolly) Bickel and her former husband, Bernard (Pug) Mueller. He worked for Ferguson Enterprises in CO for many years and they supported him throughout his last few difficult years. Eddie is survived by his wife Pam and three daughters Ashley Chitwood 34, Alexa Chitwood 32, and Kara Murphy 27 and husband Ryan Murphy 30. Older survivors include his parents Richard and Ruby Chitwood of Richland Center, sister Sharon (Tim) Grapengieser, brother Terry (Dorothy) and sister Shirley (David) Marshall. Eddie had many nieces and nephews that he influenced and helped over the years. Eddie was notorious for being an excellent business man loved by all across the fire protection industry. He was a man of integrity, faith, kindness and true compassion. Most importantly he was a proud father and husband. He wanted nothing more than to be with his family and see his girls and wife be happy, well, and thriving. Eddie never missed a chance in 15 years to be there for a recital, play, dance competition, concert, or event. His family was his world and he was theirs. A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held in Richland Center on July 27. A family - only gathering will be held at Schmitt Woodland Hills on July 27 at 1:00 There will be a “Celebration of Life” gathering of friends and family at Quail Run from 2:00-4:00. June 13, 2019 Jean Lois Daurer Glise, 92, of Richland Center passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Richland Hospital. She was born on January 21, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Louis and Hazel (Rohwer) Daurer. In high school she was involved in music, playing string bass, tuba, and slide guitar. Jean graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City in 1947. In September of 1948 she received membership in the American Dietetic Association, following an internship at Scripps Metabolic Clinic in La Jolla, California. Jean was most recently employed as a consultant dietician at Pine Valley Health Care in Richland Center. On June 16, 1949 Jean was united in marriage to Dr. Roy Glise. The couple was blessed with 6 children. Jean was an avid quilter, traveling to quilt seminars worldwide. She loved to play EDDIE ARLYN bridge and enjoyed visits CHITWOOD from her grandchildren.
