An Adobe Reader 9 standard encrypted file won’t work in Adobe Reader 3. Select the latest version of the program for reading the PDFs. Keep in mind that you can update the Reader software for free if you have previous version installed. Select which components of the document you want to lock or encrypt. You can lock all the contents of the file, either the file attachments or everything but not the metadata. For locking the PDF, choose the password type. You can set a password for opening as well as editing the PDF. In the required field type the password. If you want to permit the copying and pasting the PDF, tap on ‘Enable Copying of Text, Images, and Other Content’ option. For confirming the password click on ‘OK’ button.
