Patrick Roman ’08 and his wife, Ellen Zarchin, proudly announce the birth of their son Luke McCarthy. He was born on February 26, 2011 in Toronto, Ontario. He weighed 8.1 pounds and was 22 inches long. Patrick is an associate in the Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley in New York City.

Sidhya Jayakumar ’08 and her husband, Maneesh Amancharla, are thrilled to welcome their first child, Sunaya Leela Amancharla, who was born on May 15, 2011. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and measured 20 inches long.
Kara and Justin Hopkins ’04 celebrated the birth of their daughter, Kate Ray, on November 10, 2010. She was born in Bangkok, Thailand, while Justin is on overseas assignment serving as Chevron’s Category Manager for Major Projects for their Asia South Business Unit.
Alex Cestero ’08 began as vice president and general counsel at Lufkin Industries, Inc., in May. Michael Reid ’05 and his wife Lisa are proud to announce the birth of Rylan Porter Reid on May 4, 2011. Alexa is a very proud big sister.

IN MEMORIAM Edward Robbins (Rob) Koger, Jr. ’04 passed away July 25, 2011. He was 35. He worked as a stockbroker for U.B.S. PaineWebber in Burlington, Vermont, as a market analyst for Conoco Phillips in Houston, Texas, as an analyst in business development for Koch Industries in Wichita, Kansas, and as vice president of the Wichita Center for Excellence. He also owned and operated Rio Rubix Ranch near Belvidere, Kansas. He is survived by his parents: Edward and Kay Koger; grandparents James and Loretta Luder; brother Jared Koger (Amanda); and sister Jenna Simmons (Matt). Memorials may be sent to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas or Kansas Food Bank in care of HatfieldPrusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, Kansas 67029. John Randall Hager ’06 of Berthoud, Colo., died June 7, 2011. He was 49. A celebration of life service was held June 10 at Aspen Lodge in Estes Park. Everyone was asked to wear purple to honor John’s love and passion for Kansas State University. In lieu of flowers the family asked for donations to be made in John’s honor to the Ahearn Fund at the Ahearn Fund Office, 1800 College Avenue, Bramlage Coliseum, Manhattan, KS 66506. Most recently John was CFO for Prime Natural Resources. He is survived by his wife, Kim; son, Jason (Jen); daughters, Lauren and Hanna; grandson, JJ; father and mother, Darrel and Millie Hager; sisters, Sherri and Stacey Irwin; brothers, Jeff and Mark; and many nieces and nephews.
