Jassidel plans to continue her education in hopes to someday become a nurse. She explains what brought her to this decision and the goals of her career by explaining, “My plans for my future concerning college and career are that I plan on going to Sierra College for two years and transferring to UC Irvine to further my education on how to be a pediatric nurse. I chose this career path because I love working with younger kids and to helping them would make me really happy. I am currently working in a Mexican restaurant here in Rocklin which has been helpful in giving experience working with and serving people.” High school is a great experience but can also be limiting on certain allowed freedoms or restrictions one an individuals life and choices.

Jassidel is very excited to get out of high school to have new experiences, “When I am out of highschool I look forward to having a little more freedom because I won’t have to worry about so much school work and having to wake up super early to get to school on time. I still won’t be able to do so much since I’ll still be 17 until November but I will enjoy my summer before Sierra starts. Once I graduate, I look forward to the senior trip since it’ll be the first time I go to Universal Studios and I know it’ll be exciting for me and every senior that is attending.” With the cancellation of many events, it’s finding joy in the little things that makes life so special. That is exactly what Jassidel did stating that, ”memories that I made that were the most memorable to this year were that I was able to do a senior sunrise with my friend in a park. We watched the sunrise and we went to eat breakfast at a diner. Another memory I made was that I was able to paint my parking spot with an image of my favorite movie, which was super fun for me since I was able to have my dad help me paint it. I also dyed some of my hair with my friend and sister before we came back to school so it was cool coming back with a little change.” These actions done by Jassidel will be fond memories for her to look back on for years to come. “One thing I want future me to remember is how much my class ‘perservered’ throughout a global pandemic and kept doing their best even when we were all tired of having class through Zoom calls.”
