WHITBY Welcome to the Skelder Bank circuit in Whitby for a round of the 2021 season of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels. The round will be host to the Autos, 65s,SW85, Sw85WMX, Bw85, BW75WMX, MXY2 and the final round of the PP sports WMX British Championship. Whitby is a hardpack track and has in previous years held prestigious events such as a round of the ACU British Motocross Championship with Adult and Youth riders, along with national and club level races. The circuit offers great viewing for spectators in front of the impressive backdrop of Whitby Bay. The Skelder Bank track is widely recognised as one of the best venues in the North East and is always popular with both the riders and race fans alike.

Race Schedule
The PP Sports ACU British Women’s Motocross Championship, the official British Women’s Motocross Championship heads to Skelder Bank, Whitby on the weekend of July 10th and 11th as the WMX adult class come to the end of their 2021 Championship. Whitby is a hardpack track and has in previous years held prestigious events such as a round of the ACU British Motocross Championship, along with many national and club level races. The circuit offers great viewing for spectators in front of the impressive backdrop of Whitby Bay. The Skelder Bank track is widely recognised as one of the best venues in the North East and is always popular with both the riders and race fans alike. Heading into the final round for the WMX Adult class Elaine MacEachern leads the Championship with 259 points but is closely followed by second place rider Kathryn Booth with just 9 points difference heading into the Championship finale. Grace Richards, Charlotte Hall and Marley Saunders are your current third to fifth place riders. Whitby will also host the second round for the WMX 85cc riders who compete within the relevant Small Wheel 85cc and Big Wheel 85cc classes, but scored separately. Leading the way at the half way point in the Big Wheel 85cc category is Lucy Barker with 107 points, followed by Hollie Roberts in second, Ellie Allsopp in third and Ebony Brown, Miley Hodgson rounding out the top five.
In the WMX Small Wheel 85cc category it’s the number 31 of Libby Chatburn who leads the Championship heading into the second round at the Skelder Bank circuit with a 14 point lead with the number 40 machine of Jessie-Lee Jessopp. Make sure you’re at Whitby on July 10th and 11th to witness the country’s top WMX riders do battle.

From The Riders
I think my races went well getting a few good start and good few laps pulling away from 3rd in races 1 and 3 so then I had a few easy 2nds. I think race 2 and 4 could of gone better but I knew if I just got 3rd then I would of brought home a 2nd overall which I was mega happy about! can’t wait for round 2 at whitby!! Going into Whitby I’m going to be training very hard with my coach Alex Snow and trying to work on some different thing during these 2 weeks until Whitby. Can’t wait for round 2 - Hollie Roberts
I have never raced at Whitby before so I’m looking forward to racing a new track. After a disastrous first round at Culham I am staying positive going in to Whitby and hoping I can gain as many points back as I can. - Alfie Geddes Green
Racing was mixed for me over the weekend, the goal was to get the overall and as many points as possible. I was riding well to the conditions of the track, unfortunately the track bit back at me a couple of times with my front end washing out on me when I was in the lead both times. The second time I was not so lucky and was left with a gnarly cut on my forearm which had to be glued and stitched. It was nice to get two wins of four from what could have been four wins from four. For the next round the most important thing for me is to get my arm healed up properly, I know I have the speed and can push harder at Whitby and hopefully track conditions will allow me to showcase this. - Elaine MacEachern
I’m feeling good ,I was pumped to get my first big wheel national win ! Im really looking forward to Whitby and will try and get my first Revo podium on the BW85 Charlie Richmond
