Day 3, unfortunately, saw a thick blanket of smoke set in across the bay at the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron due to unprecedented bushfires across the country. This consequently brought the visibility to as little as 200 meters, eventually forcing race officials to cancel sailing for the day.

Shaan and I were very proud of our overall performance in our first international event, placing us 9th in silver, Xavier and Calum placed 23rd in silver, and Maddy and May placed 27th in silver. Eloi and Anatole Martin

The conditions on day four finally cleared up, allowing us to finish the qualifying series in the morning and get into the final series in the afternoon with winds ranging from 15-20 knots. We finished up the qualifying series with a 20 and a 19, putting us ten positions behind qualifying for gold fleet. Later that day in silver fleet, we managed a 12, 5, and 6. We were very proud of these results as we never expected to get such low scores. This put us into 7th in silver fleet. The conditions on day 5 died off a little, ranging from 10-15 knots. We walked away with a 10, 9, 19, and 20. Due to a misjudgment of current on the last two races, we hit the committee boat on the start line, forcing us to

(ABC) managed 9th in gold fleet, Hong Kong’s best result in the event. Most importantly, we would like to thank RHKYC for all its support leading up to the regatta. We would also like to thank Daniel Dolega, our coach for coaching the event and helping us make the most of our time in Australia.
