ISSUE 46 MICHAELMAS 2024
The Michaelmas Term is traditionally regarded as four seasons in one term –from the sultry September sunshine, to the torrential rain lashing down on drab, grey November days, to dipping temperatures and the first flakes of snow in December.
In this light, there is a quotation, “Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.” This term has certainly seen RGS students bringing their own effervescent energy, positivity and smiliness whatever has been thrown at them. Achievement – in both the curricular and co-curricular spheres –is important for every individual’s self-esteem and yet this term’s edition of The Register unashamedly celebrates the joy of friendship and laughter, community and teamwork, whatever the weather!

The beginning of the school year reminds us that friendship and togetherness are the basis upon which success is built.

Our GCSE and A Level students celebrate richly deserved results, built on hard work, dedication and pride, which provided the foundations for the most ambitious of aspirations.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...
Thank you to every single individual – students and parents, staff and governors, and the wider community alike – who have contributed so much to this Michaelmas Term, as flexibility, kindness and compassion remained very much at the heart of our ethos. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much #RGSTogether.
