Majors by TRANSFER DEGREE To help you choose a major or transfer program of study, Reynolds has developed several Associate of Arts/Associate of Science transfer degrees that provide a foundation of general education, and selected prerequisite courses, for transfer to a fouryear college or university. These transfer programs are not designed to prepare you for immediate entry into the workplace. Reynolds has many guaranteed transfer agreements with fouryear public and private colleges and universities. Students interested in this transfer opportunity, or transferring in general, should consult their faculty advisor upon program entry for further guidance. SHORT-TERM TRAINING Reynolds Community College partners with the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) to offer short-term training and workforce credentials that help move people into high-demand jobs quickly. For the person looking for a new job, nothing gives you a better chance of landing that job than having the required industry credential. CCWA offers many workforce credential programs, some at Reynolds and others at John Tyler Community College. These short-term courses are delivered in an intensive, short-term format, and focused on industries that may have a shortage of workers and high demand for new applicants. Known as FastForward, these programs have a goal to fast-track individuals to earn a credential that results in a living wage. Financial support is available for the following programs:

FINISH LINE ASSIST

We all run our own race at our own pace. And along the way, we all encounter hurdles. Whether you need assistance getting through the week, the month, or the semester, these services can help you cross the finish line. Stop by any of our locations or visit reynolds.edu/finishline Single Stop provides a short, easy-to-use benefits screener and referral database to inform students about their potential eligibility for benefits and to help them apply for those benefits. Students are able to complete this quick screening online and then meet with trained Reynolds staff for assistance finding local money and help. Single Stop will screen for services such as health coverage for adults, food, housing, mental health support, and more. For assistance visit reynolds.edu/singlestop.

EMERGENCY LOANS In instances where students may need assistance with bills due to extenuating circumstances, additional funds may be available in the form of an emergency loan. Students interested in emergency loans may receive up to $1,500 to help with costs that may include rent, transportation, food, and other expenses associated with attending Reynolds during the academic year. Foundation funds are provided and students can repay these funds through expected financial aid refunds, provided authorization is given.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS

REYNOLDS FOOD PANTRIES Reynolds food pantries address emergency food service needs and are located on each campus in the Advising Services offices. Any currently enrolled student having challenges with securing meals can stop by one of our pantries and staff will assist them. The food pantries are supported by donations from the Reynolds community. For location hours visit the Finish Line Assist website or email foodpantry@reynolds.edu.

Great Expectations helps young adults, who are currently or were formerly affiliated with the Virginia foster care system, transition to college. From choosing an academic program to navigating the financial aid process, participants receive wrap-around academic support and assistance accessing college resources from a single point of contact.

HEALTH COVERAGE FOR ADULTS If a student applied for Medicaid in the past and was denied, they may now be eligible. For more information about the new coverage, including answers to frequently asked questions, visit coverva.org.

THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE STUDENT LIFE reynolds.edu/studentlife Like four-year institutions, Reynolds offers clubs, social events, field trips, multicultural enrichment, and intramurals. Students can choose from over 25 organizations as well as participate in intramural basketball, flag football, and soccer. Reynolds has plenty of social space for students to blow off steam between classes, from game rooms to coffee shops and lounges.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS Students also have an opportunity to learn leadership skills that are transferable to careers. Join a Reynolds leadership program, like the Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges, or the Student Senate who represent the Reynolds student body.

HONORS PROGRAM reynolds.edu/honors The Reynolds Honors program is a community of highly motivated and intellectually curious students who, through collaboration with dedicated faculty, prepare for the challenges of university degree programs and beyond. Apply and log on to MyREYNOLDS within 24 hours to activate your account.

1. APPLY & LOG ON

Apply to Reynolds at reynolds.edu and receive your Empl ID (student ID) and username. Save this information! You will need both to log on and create a MyREYNOLDS account within 24 hours of applying. Otherwise, your password will expire and you will have to call (804) 371-3000 to reset. Log on to reynolds.edu > MyREYNOLDS > Student Information System (SIS) > Student Center. Time-sensitive information is sent here, and to your personal email account used on the application. It is important to check these often.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov by the priority deadlines: April 15 for fall semester, and Sept 15 for spring semester. Use the Reynolds Federal School code: 003759. For more information visit reynolds.edu/financialaid. To be considered for financial aid, you must apply each year. The Reynolds Scholarship Office offers more than 100 private scholarships. Apply for any scholarship using the online common application. Applications are accepted between December 1 and March 1. 4. DIRECT ENROLLMENT

Direct enrollment will maximize your success in college-level math and English classes. This will help you complete your college studies in less time, saving more money. Go to reynolds.edu/directenrollment and learn how to enroll in the math and English class/es best suited for you. Self-placement and enrollment criteria are based on things like how many years you’ve been out of high school, your GPA, and other transcript details.

5. GET ADVISED

New students get advised by completing the required two-step orientation both online and on-campus. Sign up at reynolds.edu/orientation. Returning students are advised by meeting with an advisor before registering for class. All students can set up advising appointments using Navigate in their MyREYNOLDS account. Students with 0-15 credits, see Advising Services. Students with 16 or more credits, see your academic program advisor. To find your advisor, visit reynolds.edu/advising.

6. REGISTER & PAY

Register and create your class schedule by logging on to MyREYNOLDS and choosing Navigate. If you register early, you are more likely to get the classes you need and schedule you want. Pay for your classes. For the most current tuition and payment due dates, visit reynolds.edu/tuition. Pay online through MyREYNOLDS > SIS or in-person at any campus Business Office. To check your financial aid award status, log on to MyREYNOLDS > SIS. For information about payment plans, refunds, or paying with a scholarship, savings plan, or other third-party sponsor, visit reynolds.edu/businessoffice. NOTE: You will receive a reynolds.edu email account after you register.
