Borosilicate glass is famous for its
fluctuations. That makes it very suitable for use in laboratoria and for professional kitchenware. The properties of the borosilicate glass we use are defined by the international standard ISO 3585 which we follow in the production of the Retap Bottles. Another characteristic of borosilicate glass is a lower density. This makes the material lighter than normal glassware.

Facts: Thermoplastic Elastomer The Retap Lids are made of a thermoplastic elastomer called TPE SEBS. We chose TPE for the Retap Lids because of its physical abilities. Most important was the fine-tuning of the elasticity. The lids need to stretch out to smoothly fit the Retap Bottle, but also be solid enough, so they won’t fall off. TPE is resistant to heat until 120 °C before deforming. That’s why the lids are suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher. Last but not least, the Retap Lids are free of phthalates and BPA.

CARBON Carbon Footprint Retap Independent research by Carbon Footprint Ltd. has shown that you can save 30,2 kg of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) every year by using a Retap Bottle 05 instead of buying bottled water. That also equals the production of 84 new Retap Bottles that can replace even more plastic bottles. We offer companies a certificate with a calculation of the CO2 savings they achieve by using Retap Bottles.
