Bottled water has been bucking the recessionary trend, as the sector continues to perform well across Ireland, according to Euromonitor’s latest report into the sector. Demand is fuelled by manufacturers keeping the products attractive with promotions, consumers trading down from premium drinks, particularly fruit/vegetable juice, and finally the underlying rising consumer health awareness and consequent shift away from less healthy beverages. In some regions, there still remains a question mark over the quality of tap water and this further helps to push bottled water sales into positive territory.
