New Year Resolutions!

T

he year has started on a good note for HSR. After a five-year battle in court, the state government has agreed to hand back the playground meant to build homes for judges (see page 42). Every time a year rolls by, we come up with resolutions for the next but never intend to keep them. Here are a few that you can. All you need is to rework your daily routine for a happy ending. Realistic or too easy, you figure it out. Good luck! Think Green: This could range from installing rainwater harvesting and solar water heating to re-using and recycling stuff you can. Caring for the environment starts at home. Get some ‘me time’: Listen to music. Read books. Take a walk in the park. Watch people and realise how each one is different from the other. Offer your prayers for the good things in your life. Drink a lot of water and get plenty of sleep. Give back: You get what you give. Let the cycle repeat itself. If you stop to give, you will stop to get. Be charitable. Time & money management: If you don’t have it, you can cultivate it consciously or under someone’s supervision. Don’t shy away from taking other’s help. Learn: If you don’t discover new things and new experiences, you are the walking dead. Develop new hobbies and learn new things. This will keep the magic of evolution, alive and well. Get into form: Go back to your morning walks or daily exercises. You will never cherish life without good health. Importantly, take some time to reflect how you can make your neighbourhood, your city and your country, a better place. In our country’s capital, someone is trying. Why shouldn’t you? Wish you a rocking 2014!
