Church news
As the continuing community that established the town of Swansea in 1667, The First Baptist Church in Swansea extends an invitation to all crafters, artists, musicians, public officials, poets and people to participate in our ninth Founders’ Festival which will be held on Oct. 15, 2007 here at our meeting house in Swansea. The Festival is intended to be a community celebration which shares the history and spirit of our towns. Any organization that contributes to the health and well being of the intercity area (between Providence and Fall River, Attleboro and Bristol) is also encouraged to be a part of the party. The format again this year includes displays of the arts (in any medium) and crafts throughout our building, music (all styles) from the two stages from 10:00 a m. until 3:00 p.m. and food: a hearty New England luncheon served from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We will also have a silent auction through which includes many items of interest donated by local merchants and services. As in the past years there will be a baked food table, games for kids, historical displays and surprises! Community groups that serve the health and welfare of our communities are invited to share their message or services. Those interested in participating in The Founders’ Festival may call the church office (508.379.9728). Contact us also by email at fbcswansea@aol.com for further information and/or registration forms. Registration for participation will close Oct. 9. Visit our website at www.firstbaptistinswansea.org. We are located ¼ mile west of the Rt. 6, Rt. 136 intersection, off Exit 2 from I-195. Parking is off Baptist St. below the meeting house.
