HERITAGE FESTIVAL PURPOSE
East Providence Heritage Days, Inc., founded in 1981 is a 501(c) (3) public charity under IRS regulations. Heritage Days sponsors several charitable events including the annual East Providence Heritage Festival which was conceived as a tribute to the richness and variety of the community’s ethnic and cultural heritage. To this end, the East Providence Heritage Days Board, in conjunction with the East Providence Parks & Recreation Department and numerous volunteers from civic, non-profit and business organizations, have joined efforts and resources for the past 29 years to sponsor this annual festival honoring the values and unique customs of the myriad cultures that comprise and enhance community life. It is the committee’s purpose and intent to create an atmosphere of understanding and pride in our respective aesthetic, intellectual and social origins and to transmit in tangible fashion a sense of that pride, knowledge and appreciation to succeeding generations while simultaneously providing a venue which will benefit other public charities. East Providence Heritage Days, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) public charity. Funding provided in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and private funders.
Paid for by the friends of Tommy Rose.
