This will be the first time that Almoridi Theatre has been used by the Rascals. If you have visitors coming out give them a treat. The tickets only cost 8 Euros for a spectacular evening of song, dance & comedy. The Rascals have been entertaining in the area for 15 years now. In the earlier years shows were performed in La Siesta square. They have come a long way since those days and now perform in various theatres in the surrounding areas. Their aims are to be a support to all members, give pleasure to the many that come to see the shows and give something back to the community by donating all the ticket sales to local charities on the night. Local photographer Amanda of Sandcastle Photography, who has taken this delightful picture of the Rascals cast at their Christmas show, has offered to be their official photographer as she so enjoys the shows they put on. Amanda does event photography and if it is for a charitable organization will make a donation from photo sales.

On the run and hiding in the deep forests of the then German occupied Poland and Belorussia that was World War II, the THREE Bielski brothers find the impossible task of foraging for food, weapons and survival, not just for themselves but for a large mass of fleeing Polish Jews from the German war machine. The Bielski brothers, living with the fear of discovery, contending with neighboring Soviet partisans and knowing whom to trust take on the responsibility as a guardian angel that is a fascinating insight into the true events of a small independent group of defiant band-ofbrothers. Consisting of women, men, children, the elderly and the young alike hiding in makeshift homes in the dark, cold and unforgiving forests in the darkest times of German occupied Eastern Europe, Defiance is a beautiful reflection of dedication, sacrifice, desperation and hope.

Best Of Dance Comes To Cartagena A benefit gala dedicated to the Alzheimers Association is to take place on Saturday 21st March, with more then 150 of the best of Spanish and European dancers taking part. The event will begin at 6pm in the dance suite “Memorial Mari Mulas Ciudad de Cartagena”, in the municipal sports pavilion in the city. The outstanding feature of the benefit gala will be the supreme quality of the dancers, with many of those performing being competition winners at both national and international levels. Amongst the dancers are several local performers with high hopes for future stardom in the world of dance, including two 8 year old dancers who have already won 5 European trophies. A second couple, aged 13 and 15, have been Spanish runners-up in the waltz, tango and pasodoble and are representing the dance school “Bailamos” from the city. Entrance to the event will cost 5 euros, and tickets can be obtained from the dance school “Bailamos”, from the Alzheimers Association in Cartagena and the Sports Pavilion in the days prior to the performance. If you attend, expect to be treated to around 2 ½ hours of spectacular dance routines from every possible discipline, with waltz, tango, chachacha and choreographed displays. Last year the event raised over 5000 euros for the chosen charity, which was the Association for Parkinsons disease. This year, organisers hope to at least meet, if not surpass, that target once again.
