The Holland Project presents this dance and music event featuring five local dancer/choreographers and musical artists. Each dancer has been given music (selected for them by the Holland Project) by a local band or artist and given two weeks to create original pieces using the music selected for them. Measures is the debut of these works, and is a one-time-only performance. Each dancer will have to create pieces that fit within a specific perimeter—a big square box outlined with white tape on the Holland Project Show Space floor. Movement must be confined to the space, and one part of the dancer must always be within the square border. The show features performances and choreography by Stephanie Duffy, Abrie Parrish, Adreana Polimeni, Christina Carter and Michelle Michelsen with music by My Flag is on Fire, Slothy Mane, Alphabet Cult, Surf Curse and Franc Friday + Tea Haze. The event begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at The Holland Project, 140 Vesta St. Admission is $5. Call 742-1858 or visit www.hollandreno.org. —Kelley Lang
