12/16:Merry Days & Holly Nights Opening Ceremonies Squaw Valley Resort holds its second annual holiday celebration, which kicks off this weekend with a parade led by Santa Claus in a one-horse, open sleigh through Squaw’s “Ye Olde Christmas Village” en route to the KT Base Bar. The Glowstick Parade will begin at the KT Deck and proceed to Merry Wonderland (a.k.a. the Olympic Village Lodge). Fire dancers will display a daring dance leading to the illumination of the Winter Walk. Santa will continue the parade to Merry Wonderland where guests can look at the ice garden, listen to music by the Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus and enjoy savory treats as part of Taste of Squaw—a complementary tasting of signature items offered by Squaw’s Village and Mountain dining establishments. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Squaw Valley Resort, 1960 Squaw Valley Road, Olympic Valley. Other holiday-themed events will continue through the end of December.
