IN NEVADA I WISH TO SAY: Nevada Humanities celebrates civic engagement and community dialogue with the launch of “In Nevada I Wish to Say,” a statewide creative project by North Carolina-based artist Sheryl Oring. Oring will set up an “office” and manual typewriter in front of the “Believe” sculpture at Reno’s City Plaza and invite passersby to dictate a postcard to the President of the United States. Artown presents a performance by the all-male dance group from Argentina. Che Malambo excites audiences through precise footwork and rhythmic stomping, drumming of the bombos and singing and whirling boleadoras (lassos with stones on the end), presenting a thrilling, percussive dance and music spectacle.
