Right Up Your Alley is a series on the transitional spaces of alleyways. This exploration focuses on the informality of back streets which are lined with garages, sheds and fences. The on-going gentrification within downtown Toronto is replacing community identity. Homogeneity displaces established areas of neighbourhoods that are characterized by unique buildings, public art and shared spaces. What is revealed through this observation are the playful and architectural similarities between the structures that represent the unique personalities of the owners. As the physical environments change these images become witness to an overlooked aspect of our city.
