DC Wine Week 2013 WrapUp From Oct. 12–19, Washingtonian winelovers celebrated the 3rd annual DC Wine Week. Mayor Vincent C. Gray of Washington, DC, proclaimed DC Wine Week official [http://www.dcwineweek.com/2013/10/raiseyourglasseshigh/] for the third year in a row, and winos celebrated the week with eight official events around the district. From sports and yoga wine sessions to paired dinner and brunch menus, there were tons of opportunities to enjoy wine and support the area’s growing local wineries, wine shops, wine bars, restaurants and merchants. In the weeks leading up to the Oct. 12, DC Wine Week headed to Virginia wine country for wine tours [http://www.dcwineweek.com/2013/08/dcwineweekontheroadwinetours/] with Divine Wine Tours [http://divinewineva.com/]. DC Wine Week then kicked off at Veritas Wine Bar [http://www.veritasdc.com/] and wound down with a VIP brunch at Sonoma Restaurant & Wine Bar [http://www.sonomadc.com/]. Other events in between included oysters paired with a wonderful wine selection at Tel’Veh Cafe & Wine Bar [http://www.telvehdc.com/], bocce ball games in Vinoteca’s [http://www.vinotecadc.com/] plaza, a yoga practice by Mimi Rieger [http://www.mimiriegeryoga.com/] combined with Early Mountain Vineyards [http://earlymountain.com/] Rosé on the Vida Fitness U Street [http://vidafitness.com/ustreet] pool deck, 16 Italian wines paired with Chef Ricchi’s grilled delights on the patio of Ristorante i Ricchi [http://iricchidc.com/], traditional platebreaking with the Greek Embassy at Kellari [http://www.kellaridc.com/]; and a Columbus Day celebration at The Coupe [http://www.thecoupedc.com/] featuring wines on tap and a special fall menu tasting from the chef. In addition to the exciting events, DC Wine Week earned stellar PR and media opportunities. Along with mentions from multiple blogs and digital news outlets, DC Wine Week had featured segments on WTOP (Foodie And The Beast) and Fox 5 local news.
