A Message from our Managing Partner Brian T. Gannon
Reflecting on the past year, I am reminded of what makes Reminger special- our people and the clients we serve. As I wrap up my second year as Managing Partner, I am grateful for the relationships we have built and the opportunities to make a difference together.
Thanks to the generosity of our attorneys, staff, and friends of the firm, the Reminger Foundation awarded over fifty charitable grants in 2025. Among these efforts, we were proud to support The MetroHealth Foundation to help advance healthcare and community well-being in Northeast Ohio.
In 2025, we welcomed twenty-one attorneys to our team and celebrated many achievements. I am proud to share a few highlights from this past year:
Our commitment to fostering a positive workplace remains strong. In 2025, Reminger was named among the “Best Companies to Work For” by U.S. News & World Report, honored as one of The Plain Dealer’s “Top Workplaces in Northeast Ohio” for the fifteenth consecutive year, and recognized by Columbus CEO for the fifth time as a Top Workplace.
Best Lawyers once again recognized Reminger as a “Best Law Firm,” with our Health Care Law, Transportation Law, Insurance Law, and Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions – Defendants groups earning national rankings. Sixty-eight of our attorneys were honored as Best Lawyers and Ones to Watch by Best Lawyers in America, with two shareholders named “Best Lawyers 2025 – Lawyers of the Year.” Super Lawyers Magazine also recognized forty-four of our attorneys in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
As we look ahead, I want to thank you for your continued trust in Reminger. We are excited to serve you in 2026 and beyond.
Brian T. Gannon, Managing Partner

Results. Period. Reminger attorneys skillfully defend civil cases through jury trials, arbitrations, mediations, and various administrative and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Below are some of our notable results from 2025.
Trial Victory for Physician Susan Blasik-Miller and Shannon Bockelman secured a defense verdict for their physician client in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case. The plaintiff alleged that our client failed to timely refer the patient to a specialist. Bockelman and Blasik-Miller argued that the plaintiff’s cancer was extremely rare and aggressive with no clear warning signs, and that the patient declined multiple appointments, complicating care. After approximately 90 minutes of deliberation, the jury returned with a verdict in favor of our client.
Defense Verdict in Favor of Chiropractor Trenton Gill & Joseph Zumpano secured a defense verdict for their chiropractor client facing a medical malpractice suit. They argued that the Plaintiff either did not have a carotid artery dissection at the time of the treatment or that his symptoms presented so unusually that no medical provider would have expected such a condition.

Unanimous Defense Verdict in General Liability Case A jury returned a unanimous defense verdict in a 7-day trial involving allegations of improper pest spray application. Plaintiffs initially sought damages for personal injury, personal property, and real estate damage. Through summary judgment, Vince Antaki and Jim Schirmer eliminated the first two claims, leaving only the real estate damage at issue. Plaintiffs alleged extensive remediation and remodeling costs, temporary housing expenses, and emotional distress, seeking over $370,000. After four hours of deliberation, the jury ruled in favor of the defense.
Trial Victory for Commercial Driver Kevin Foley obtained a defense verdict for a commercial tractor-trailer driver, defeating subrogation and loss-of-use claims by establishing that a phantom vehicle forced the driver into a collision, thereby preserving the driver’s record and livelihood.
Successful Defense of Defamation Lawsuit Chad Willits and Michael Caligaris successfully defended two media defendants in a highstakes defamation lawsuit seeking $1.4 million in damages over articles reporting on wage violation allegations. Plaintiffs claimed the publications caused reputational and financial ruin, but the court agreed that the reporting was fair, balanced, and protected under the First Amendment. After extensive motions, supplemental briefing, and nearly five hours of oral argument, the judge granted summary judgment from the bench in favor of our clients.
Defense Verdict in Property Damage Lawsuit Timothy Spille secured a defense verdict in a contentious lawsuit that escalated from a simple property damage claim into a broader dispute involving alleged harassment and emotional distress. The plaintiff sought property repairs, cleanup, emotional distress, and an injunction, but the defense had the latter two dismissed. At trial, the plaintiff admitted she couldn’t prove the damage wasn’t storm-related, and the Act of God defense prevailed. The court ruled for the defendants, rejecting all claims.
