2023 marked Reminger's 65th year of dedicated service to our clients.
Since we first opened our doors in 1958 as the Law Offices of Richard T. Reminger, we have expanded to 15 offices spanning three states. From our roots in transportation defense to our current position as a full-service firm, Reminger has consistently risen to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients. To celebrate our 65th anniversary, we opened our fifteenth office in Dayton, unveiled our new Cleveland headquarters, and welcomed 19 new attorneys to the firm.
As we usher in a new year, I am proud to announce that Brian Gannon will take on the role of Reminger’s Managing Partner as of January 1, 2024. It has been my privilege and honor to serve as the Managing Partner for the past 20 years. During this time, I have witnessed Brian’s development as both a person and a leader since he first joined the firm as a law clerk in 2001. This is an exciting time for both Reminger and our clients, as Brian will bring new ideas and a focus of even greater collaborative commitment.

2023 marked yet another year of growth and advancement for Reminger as we opened our fifteenth office, announced our new Managing Partner, unveiled our new Cleveland headquarters, and welcomed 19 new attorneys to the firm.
In April 2023, we moved our firm's headquarters to 200 Public Square, in the heart of Downtown Cleveland.
Our HQ is home to over 60 attorneys specializing in litigation of all types, including medical malpractice defense, professional liability, workers' compensation, probate disputes, and retail and hospitality. Our Cleveland attorneys also provide estate planning services and counsel business clients on all aspects of their operations.
Over 120 staff members, including executive assistants, legal nurse consultants, IT administrators, and accounting professionals, also work in our Cleveland headquarters.
Thoughtfully designed with state-of-the art technology and collaborative spaces, our upgraded office enables Reminger attorneys to provide the exceptional legal services our clients expect.
Managing Partner, Stephen Walters stated, “This move will position Reminger to continue to thrive and expand for years to come.”
Brian T. Gannon will become the firm’s President & Managing Partner, effective January 1, 2024.
Brian has been with Reminger since 2001 when he joined the firm as a law clerk while earning his J.D. from CSU College of Law.
“For the over 20 years I have worked at Reminger, I have learned to appreciate its core values of hard work, collaboration, and client-focused results,” said Gannon.
“I look forward to maintaining these core values as Reminger’s next managing partner, but I also look forward to introducing changes to address the evolving needs of our clients, lawyers, and staff.”
REMINGER EXPANDS TO DAYTON
We expanded our firm to Dayton, Ohio by welcoming a new team of five talented attorneys: Susan Blasik-Miller, Shannon K. Bockelman, Lindsay M. Johnson, Meredith Turner-Woolley, and Michael D. Rice.
Marking our eighth Ohio office and 15th office firmwide, this strategic expansion significantly strengthens our legal capabilities, allowing us to deliver an even higher caliber of service and expertise to our valued clients.
We were selected as one of The Plain Dealer’s Top Workplaces for the thirteenth consecutive year.
We were also selected as a Top Workplace in Columbus, Ohio for 2023 by Columbus CEO magazine for the third year.

Reminger elevated four attorneys to shareholder status: Alexandria Balduff (Sandusky), Zachary Durant (Cleveland), Thomas Spyker (Columbus), and Meredith Turner-Woolley (Dayton).
Joseph Borchelt was named Managing Partner of our Cincinnati, Ohio office.
We named seven new practice group chairs in 2023: Adam Fried (Statewide Chair, Estates and Trusts), Timothy Gallagher (Guardianships), Jessica Forrest and Paul Shugar (Estates, Trusts, and Probate Litigation), Andrew Jamison (Long-Term Care Liability), David Krause (Health Care Law), Erin Hess (Medical Malpractice).
Cannabis
Chaired by Mark Bush and Nathan Lennon, the group counsels cannabis businesses through matters including product liability, labor and employment matters, workers’ compensation claims, business liability and trade disputes, and premises liability.
Chaired by Robert West, Jr., the group defends and protects IP rights across all legal arenas.

We were pleased to welcome our firm's founder, Mr. Richard T. Reminger, to Cleveland in October. Both current and retired Reminger partners came together for a memorable lunch.
Dick Reminger founded Reminger in 1958. He served as Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer until he retired in 1991. Mr. Reminger's legacy continues to shape our firm, and we were excited to welcome him back to see our new office.
With a rich legacy as tough-as-nails litigators, Reminger attorneys defend civil cases at jury trials, arbitrations, mediations, and in other administrative and alternative dispute resolution processes. See below for a summary of some of our significant results from 2023.
Michael Murphy and Alexandria Balduff obtained a unanimous defense verdict in a case involving an alleged failure to timely diagnose and treat an eye infection following a cataract surgery which led to permanent blindness in one eye.
Marc Groedel, Michael Murphy, Danny Egger, and Alexandria Balduff obtained unanimous defense verdicts in a case involving the alleged negligent offlabel prescription of an anti-psychotic medication which led to the death of an elderly woman. After several days of trial, the plaintiff asked the jury to return a verdict of $2.1 million. The jury returned unanimous defense verdicts.
Samuel Meadows and Nicholas Siciliano defended an insured family who built a wood-fired pizza oven in their backyard. After a four-day trial, the jury returned a defense verdict in favor of our clients, agreeing that their use of the pizza oven did not constitute a private nuisance.
The Indiana Supreme Court affirmed the Monroe County Circuit Court’s dismissal of a negligence lawsuit against our construction company client. James Scheidler and Nick Brunette obtained a dismissal of the case with prejudice from the Monroe County Court. Katie Haire joined the team for the appellate briefing process. Thomas Kilbane and Nick Siciliano secured defense verdicts for a Radiologist, General Surgeon, and Hospital System. After 6 days of trial, the plaintiff asked the jury to return a verdict in excess of $500,000. After 45 minutes of deliberation, the jury returned defense verdicts in favor of all three of our clients.
Adriann McGee and Mary Kraft represented an Executor of an Estate in a claim for breach of fiduciary duty. This was the first jury trial to be held in the Delaware County Probate Court in 25 years.
David Krause and Taylor Knight represented our radiology client and his practice. Susan Blasik-Miller and Meredith Turner-Woolley represented the family practice physician and group. The Plaintiff claimed the Defendant physicians were negligent, which delayed the diagnosis of lung cancer and resulted in the death of a 58-year-old man.
Erin Hess and Danny Egger obtained a defense verdict for their home health nurse and hospital clients. Plaintiffs claimed that our client was negligent during a catheter change which allegedly led to a bowel perforation and the need for surgery including colostomy and hospital stay. After a week and a half of trial, the jury returned a defense verdict on negligence in favor of our clients.
Rick Weil and Nathan Lennon obtained a defense verdict in favor of chiropractor. Plaintiff alleged that they suffered a cervical herniation and fracture as the result of negligent chiropractic care.
Bethanie Murray obtained a unanimous defense verdict in favor of an employer in a workers' compensation trial.
Trenton Gill and Brooke Behrens secured a defense verdict in favor of chiropractors in a negligence case. Our clients suggested trying a whole-body cryotherapy session to treat plaintiff's headache and pains. The plaintiff agreed, but ended the session after two minutes, citing pain and signs of hypertensive crisis. Plaintiff also contended that our clients were negligent in their postcryotherapy management. After a threeday trial, the jury returned a defense verdict in favor of our client.
Ralph Burnham and Kelly Ratliff secured an appellate win for their blasting company client. The Sixth Circuit upheld the dismissal of Plaintiff’s Complaint as well as the award of attorneys’ fees in our client’s favor.
Erin Hess and Danny Egger secured a defense verdict in favor of a urologist after Plaintiff alleged that our client was negligent during penile implant surgery. Defense
