Trondheim: Trondheim is one of the most active cities of culture in Norway, and the ideal starting point for your visit to Trøndelag. The large number of concerts, festivals and other creative cultural events, together with museums, exciting boutiques and cafés, make it difficult to go idle in Trondheim. A number of modern visitors’ centres like Rockheim, the national visitor centre for pop and rock, and the Science Centre (Vitensenteret) where science is presented in a fun way, offer a wealth of wonderful experiences. The River Nidelven meanders its way through the city centre, past the mighty Nidaros Cathedral where Olav the Holy is buried, through the old and charming part of the city known as Bakklandet, and along the extensive, colourful terraces of quayside buildings. A large part of the city centre consists of wooden buildings, narrow passageways and cobbled streets that create an intimate atmosphere.

Fantastic countryside and coastline Seven national parks, a beautiful coastline and many other great outdoor areas, play a central role in life in Trøndelag. Skiers, hikers, hunters and anglers all feel a twinge of excitement in their bodies as the season approaches, and they all have plenty of options to choose from. Diverse cultural activities There are many things you can say about the people of Trøndelag, but their urge to create and express themselves has always one of their characteristics. That is something that we and all of our guests benefit from, through festivals in a
