At Kosta Boda, we have worked with glass for close to 300 years. We haven’t tired yet. If anything, our passion for the material and its magical properties keeps growing. Today, our production spans interior design, lifestyle and art – fueled by a quest to keep evolving, constantly seeking new expressions, by turns bold and accessible. Our works enrich your home for everyday life and parties, always made with a style and quality intended to last for many years. Collections range from utility items that heighten meals, drinks and community, to innovative shapes that beautify spaces where people live and create memories together. Kosta Boda is not only about what we do, but also who we are. Courage, determination and collaboration have been guiding principles for both brand and employees since we started in 1742. Other central qualities are craftsmanship, creativity and artistic freedom. The result is a tradition of inspiring, progressive glass production, divided into the areas Kosta Boda Collection and Kosta Boda Art Glass. Kosta Boda Collection The ambition of Kosta Boda Collection is to capture the spirit of the times in the form of commercial lifestyle products. The range consists of well-designed and functional interior items. Complementary materials can be used, but always with the glass in focus. We find inspiration in the collective history of the glassworks and designers like Signe Persson-Melin and Erik Höglund, complemented by present-day influences. The collections encompass fashion, music and art, and aim to beautify and enhance modern everyday life – whether it concerns diningtable accessories, interior design or celebration. 3

Caramba Ulrica Hydman-Vallien The inspiration for this Kosta Boda series from 1986 stems from a trip to Mexico. “¡Ay, caramba!” is a bold statement that indicates admiration, surprise or anger. It’s a word associated with strong emotions, a strength reflected in Ulrika Hydman Vallien’s hand-painted black details in the mouth-blown glass.

Contrast Anna Ehrner Southern Sweden’s Kingdom of Crystal has a proud tradition of pushing the craft forward. An example is the technique called glass centrifugation, which was invented here in the 1950s. In the series Contrast, this technique comes into its own, where the coloring’s path through the glass - using color powder and sticks creates billowing veils, giving each object a unique pattern. Contrast from Kosta Boda was launched in 2005 and consists of bowls, dishes and vases in several sizes and colors.

Crackle Åsa Jungnelius Crackle defies all preconceptions and makes a glassblower’s nightmare – cracked glass – its raison d’être. Here it’s used to give the object beauty and character. The mold is dug out of clay by hand and the cracked surface is formed using an ancient technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice cold water. The result is a series of objects whose expression changes depending on perspective and distance, reminiscent of sculptures made of colored ice. Crackle by Kosta Boda was launched in 2020 and consists of vases and a bowl, all mouth-blown in Kosta. In 2023, the Crackle Circular series won the prestigious international ‘Best of the Best’ - Red Dot Design Award.

Gabba Gabba Hey Ludvig Löfgren Like life itself – at once inscrutable, playful, serious, beautiful – the gorilla sits there, with its rounded shape and arms crossed. The Gabba Gabba Hey series invites each viewer to make their own interpretation. But however you see it, it will surely catch your attention. Since its launch in 2010, the series has come to exert its special appeal all over the world. The sculptures are designed by Ludvig Löfgren and mouth-blown in Kosta.

Kappa Mimmi Blomqvist Kappa is a series of vases in different sizes and executions by Mimmi Blomqvist for Kosta Boda. The series is mouth-blown into shape and is named after the bubble, or cap, that rises over the edge of the mold during manufacture. It is also this cap that has inspired the beautiful, billowing shape of the vases. The collection includes multiple styles, sizes and colors including a selection offered in circular glass produced from waste glass at Kosta Glassworks resulting in a unique coloration – shades from blue to green – for each object. Kappa was launched in 2021 and is both a tribute to the artisanal history of glass and designed for a sustainable future.

Make Up Åsa Jungnelius Make Up by Kosta Boda is a series of stylized glass items straight from the beauty box. Make Up, launched in 2008, was created as a mini version of Åsa Jungnelius’ art installation “I like your hairstyle!”. These iconic beauty products in pressed glass are a feminist statement much along the lines of Åsa Jungnelius’ other work.

Meadow Sara Persson A wild, blossoming field. That’s both the inspiration for and expression of Meadow, a series of vases that look just as good on their own as holding a sheaf of roses. Or tulips, a mixed bouquet, a solitary flower, a well-chosen twig. Meadow is made using a glass-crushing technique where the vases are rolled in colored, crushed glass while they are still red-hot. The shards blend into and become part of the glass itself, and no two vases are alike. The organic pattern combined with the straight lines creates a playful whole that highlights the craftsmanship, while the shape of the vase highlights the floral splendor it embraces.

New Friends Ernst Billgren In his creative output, renowned Swedish artist Ernst Billgren has a habit of moving between artistic expressions, not seldom executed with themes close to nature and a light-hearted touch. The New Friends series, launched in 2008, is an excellent example. The animal motifs become one with the glass in a clever, playful and decorative way. One animal for each piece, masterfully made by the Kosta Glassworks’ craftsmen. Resting carefree at the bottom of the glass – happy to share this drink with you. After all, meeting someone over a drink is a great way to make new friends.

Pagod Anne Nilsson Kosta Boda’s Pagod is a series of elegant vases reminiscent of the 1960s. With a design intended to enhance and beautify cut flowers, the vases have a clear function. The series is mouth-blown and made with an underlay technique two layers of glass, providing a well-crafted and stylish result. A layer of clear glass lies like a casing over an inner colored layer, letting its true color shine through. Pagod was launched in 2018.

The collab with Kosta Boda rendered this series of bar glasses for various drinks, with or without alcohol, where the Kosta Boda logo has been remixed and sampled with a fond irreverence into several graphic patterns.
