WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPLE THING Kimberly Moses did, God gave me counsel and a greater depth of understanding. Remember, in God is your true source of wisdom, revelation, understanding, and all things. Dear Heavenly Father,

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE FOR MEDITATION: Job 12:13 says, “With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.” There is a lot of advice that we can find in today’s society. We can look up a certain topic with a click of a button on the internet. We can ask our smart devices to look up something for us. Finding information is becoming easier than ever. This is great; however, we must take heed and check the source of the information. Is it credible? If we aren’t careful, then we could be deceived into believing some-

thing that’s not true. God’s wisdom proves to be true and the best source. He is waiting for us to cry out and ask Him for wisdom. When we do this, we won’t be deceived by other sources. People will give you all sorts of counsel. Some counsel might be great and in the will of God for your life while other counsel is straight up carnal and will grieve the spirit of God. God’s spirit will never lead us astray and it’s up to us to apply the tools and the instructions that He has given us. Many times, I had to fall on my face in deep prayer and ask God for a strategy. When I

I humble myself today. I repent for not always seeking your counsel and doing things on my own. Bless me Lord to be a person of prayer. Lord, I truly want to seek your face and take heed to your counsel. I don’t want to be deceived by the schemes of the enemy. Lord, open up my spiritual eyes so I will be able to discern both good and evil. Lord, remove any ungodly influences out of my life so I don’t go down the wrong path in life. I pray that I will come to you first and ask you before I ask anyone else for advice. Thank you for answering this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen. NEW BOOK COMING WINTER 2018

DAY 35 - TRUST WALK By Keiyia JOYet George

DAY 35: I TRUST YOU, LORD. SEPARATED. 1 CORINTHIANS 5 Have you read 1 Corinthians 5 yet? No? Stop and go read it. This can wait. Ok. You’ve read it now. What are your thoughts? This chapter is jammed packed with brow raising guidance. You can almost hear Paul’s disgust as he wrote it.

It seems the church at Corinth was not to tolerate sin in their congregation. Yet they were ok with a son sleeping with his father’s wife (would this be his mother?!)! “Put him out of the fellowship,” Paul said. “Don’t stand for it. He will ruin the entire fellowship.” A little yeast leavens the whole batch. Don’t believe this? Here’s a lovely little experiment for you. Go to your kitchen. You are

going to make dumpling. Take some flour, a dash of salt, yeast and some lukewarm water. Don’t mix it all yet. Take the flour and the salt and mix it well. Now put in a very small ‘shake of the pack’ amount of the yeast. Wait! That’s too much. Just use a very small amount. There you go. Ever so gently shake in a tiny bit. Mix this. Now add your water. Let sit. Did it rise eventually? No? Ok. No problem. Go ahead and cook your soup. Fish soup is awesome, by the way. Roll out your dough while that’s cooking. You don’t want to drop the dumpling in too early. Cut the dough into small squares. Now drop them into your soup. Did they puff up? I’m sure they did. The thing about dumpling is they should be flat not puffy

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

like a pastry. If you don’t have yeast, get you some self-rising flour and follow the basic recipe without the yeast. The baking soda in the flour will have the same affect. Your dough will puff up. This is what Paul was saying. You leave that sin-filled person among you and he will bleed out on everyone else. One bad apple does spoil the whole bunch. I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1 Corinthians 5:9-11 KJV Man! When you read this, do you visualize the distaste Jesus had when he turned over the tables of the people selling in the temple (Matthew 21:12). The Bible makes it seem like it was a docile type of act but when you realize how he felt, you understand He went in the template and straight regulated on the people (do people still use regulate like that?). In other words, it was not a Kum ba ya moment like people pretend it was. Jesus was flabbergasted.

That’s how you can picture Paul as he writes this. You know how you feel when you just washed dishes and turned away for a few minutes and the sink is filled. Or you just cleaned up a pile of toys and they are all back on the floor. Or how about you just dropped your son/daughter off to college and they are home already raiding the fridge? It’s that feeling of “Didn’t I just...”. Paul left these people and now is being told that this type of act happened and the people have allowed it to go on without separating them self from the person(s) committing the act(s). You ever wonder why people can’t separate themselves from people who mean them no good? What is the hold the ‘no good doer’ has on the person. But the word of God says to not even eat with those type of people. Have nothing to do with them. You have nothing in common. They are dead in their sin. Rotten and stinky. You are alive in Christ. Why are you holding onto them? That’s what Paul is saying in this chapter. Separate yourself from those who don’t follow the word. If you don’t, you will end up like them: living in sin. They will rub off on you. No one is saying not to pray for them, minister to them, or anything like that. But as a believer not living in sin, your best friend shouldn’t be a nonbeliever living in sin. Who are you holding on to? Where could you have been if

you’d just let them go? You don’t trust God enough to send you divine friends and associates? It may hurt a little, but let them go. It’s time to clean house. Sweeping it out, Keiyia JOYet George

IF GOD WERE SMALL ENOUGH TO BE UNDERSTOOD, HE WOULD NOT BE BIG ENOUGH TO BE WORSHIPED By Shirley Cooper

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8–9) At the heart of every problem, there’s a solution. Pray fervently and answers will unfold before you. God knows what we need before we ever ask Him. Even if your life doesn’t get better in short term, you can trust God with your life for a better purpose long term. God’s perfect timing is just that - perfect! Throughout our Christian walk, we all desire to do God’s will without disobedience. However, I believe that we fail in this area multiple times because we just aren’t patient enough to wait on “His” timing. We believe deep down that what is “perfect” timing for God, is not perfect timing for us. The scale then begins to tilt and all of our ideas, plans, and dreams start to wobble over

the edge. Now, “our” perfect looks a little more misleading, while God’s perfect timing becomes more believable. Scary at times, maybe even a little strange, but believable. All the chaos that we thoroughly skimmed through trying to find answers we eventually come to the conclusion that we can roll the dice, but God determines where they land. Slowly coming to the realization that God’s plan has a purpose while “ours” fell short of every good thing our

Creator is unfolding. In short, God’s plan always holds our best interest in the long run. One could say, “That’s where victory awaits.” You see, the fact is, while we’re a “big” deal to God, God’s more of the bigger deal. In pre-K language, “He’s the biggerest one.” If God were small enough to be understood, He would not be big enough to be Worshiped. He is not a God created by human hands, but we are humans molded by God’s very large, always

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

capable, loving, fierce hands. The description of Him could go on forever. That’s how ginormous our Father in Heaven is. Our way of thinking or reasoning could never challenge His infinite way. A way that is unfathomable. He is good...no, wait! “Chicken” is good, God is great! That’s one way I can describe my perfect God with a little humor. Maybe that’s why we use a lot of big words when we talk about God, words like Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient. He is all-powerful, all-present, and all-knowing. He is God! When we hear these words, we already know that these words express the upper limit of our ability to understand power, wisdom, and time. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. (Isaiah 40:28) The fact is that as God’s children, we do want to do His will. For the most part, some try harder than others, but eventually temptation comes creeping in and a small hint of desiring our own will at times calls us like caffeine calls the faithful morning coffee lover. It’s just such a sweet aroma that eventually grips us, devouring all the hope we once believed in. We all go through our trials, and through it, some of us learn to understand a little of what is

unfolding. Others get the picture fully believing that their blind faith will please God enough to finish His artistic plan quickly, never having to endure anymore of the suffering already encountered. Trusting God is not easy. Painting a pretty picture is even harder. Humiliation, embarrassment, sadness, mood swings, anger, envy, hate and more start to rot our insides. We stay in this shallow thought where our smiles are just small walls that hide our deepest sadnesses. The devil then lunges in with a package he loves to title as depression. God’s choices for us have always been triumphant. As we walk through history, we find that many of our biblical siblings rallied against God, only to find that what they imagined being greatness would soon fail miserable had they continued to turn their hearts from our Father. Let’s take Moses for example. He once fought against God believing that history would just be destroyed if God pushed him to go down to face people with a message he couldn’t believe himself. Face a king? Speak to hard-headed people? Free members of his bloodline? I’m sure Moses thought that the moment he opened his mouth, would be a disaster. Little did he know that he would be used to stand on the edge of a cliff to open up a huge body of water through the power given to him by God Himself. With God’s complete direction and

authority, Moses became a legend, God was glorified, and His mighty name has reached many hearts today just as it has for Moses, Isaiah, John, Luke, and so many more people including us. Those who truly have encountered an incredible, infinite God. Knowing there is a God is one thing, but believing that His very direction goes far beyond anything we could ever imagine is another. It rings loudly that our God is too infinite to ever be understood fully, and in order to conquer the battles we face on daily, we would have to have complete faith and trust in Him every second of our lives. Trusting our Father with all that we feel worried about may be a little hard to move forward with, but we serve a mighty God who loves His children and refuses to hide His powers to deliver them from their troubles when His perfect timing is added. Today, let us walk a new walk that carries a golden rule. Let’s stand by faith, believing that before any results happen, we are already victorious. Let us proclaim our victory through the storm knowing that our small life is held tightly by Infinite hands. Because regardless of the many obstacles we face or endure, the God that opened up the sea for our biblical siblings is the same Father who created us all, through infinite measures far beyond our small minds.

8 MISTAKES MOMS MAKE THAT SABOTAGE THEIR OWN SELF CARE {PART 2}

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

Hi, Mommas! Last time we chatted about four of the eight mistakes moms make that sabotage their selfcare. All four were very insightful, so let’s jump right in to numbers 5 through 8. 5. DECLINING OUTINGS WITH GIRLFRIENDS This is so sad but very true. Countless times, I’ve declined outings with my girlfriends simply because I felt I’d be neglecting the kids. That is the furthest thing from the truth. Moms need a little kid-free time with cherished friends to relax and unwind. It’s healthy, wise and good for the kids to see their mommy living a well-balanced life. So, push aside the mommy guilt and call a friend for a girl’s day out! 6. NOT HAVING ENOUGH TIME WITH GOD This is the BIG one! Moms must stay connected to the vine (God) to thrive and manage it all. Spending quality time in God’s presence is the most important way moms can refill and genuinely care for themselves. Time in prayer, worship and meditating on scripture is priceless and opens the door for God to move on your behalf in incredible ways. Carving out time to be with God can sometimes seem impossible with little ones pulling you in all directions, but don’t underestimate five intentional minutes at the start of your day with a devotional and prayer. 7. ALL WORK AND NO PLAY Many days of mom’ing are filled with dishes, diapers, dusting and constant discipline, but we must fit in a little time for play too. Putting work and school to the side for a while to go out and play is an essential part of self-care - for you and your family too. So, be sure to schedule quality play time, even if it’s kicking the ball around outside with the kids for a half hour. That can reset and refresh the day for everyone. #familytimeandfitness 8. NEGLECTING YOUR INTERESTS Do you remember all the things you use to love doing? It can sometimes seem like your God-given desires and interests have gotten buried in the hustle and bustle of being a mom, but you must be persistent about getting back to your interests. It might be once a day, once a week, or once every six months depending on how old your children are and how much support you get from your family. The most important thing is that you make an effort to do those things. And don’t get discouraged if you are not able to do the things you love as often as you’d like because seasons of motherhood change quickly. In the meantime, continue prioritizing yourself care as best you can with God’s help and count your many blessings. Being a mom is one of the most awesome opportunities a woman has, but it’s also very draining at times. Between colic babies, nursing problems, toddlers who refuse to sleep in their own beds, preschoolers that insist on drawing on the walls, opinionated 4th graders, preteen sass, teenage drama and young adult issues, it’s easy to lose yourself in it all! That is why you’ve got to make self-care non-negotiable so that you can thrive as the great mom God has called you to be. If you missed Part 1 of 8 Mistakes Moms Make That Sabotage Their Own Self Care{Part 2}, check it out in July’s Rejoice Essential issue!

TESTIMONIES: LET’S GIVE THE DEVIL A BLACK EYE! When we share our testimonies, our faith increases! We start to believe God for the Impossible! We can see the power and the hand of God in any situation. God can turn any test into a testimony! We know if God did it before, he can do it again. Our Testimonies glorify God!

Unusual miracle!! Hello Prophetess, after being on your prayer line last night, the miracles are starting. I went to the laundromat to wash my family’s clothes as I do every week. I budgeted $20. When looking at the amount of clothes we had to wash, I thought, “it’s going to cost me more,” which concerned me because I also needed to buy more food for the house. I needed a large washing machine that required 40 quarters to wash clothes. When I pushed the button, ready to pay my 40 quarters, it only asked for nine! My kids and my eyes got so big. I could

not believe that this huge washing machine only asked me for nine quarters. Then these words came out of my mouth, “Unusual Miracles.”–Racquel Hi Prophetess Kimberly! I just want to give a testimony from last night’s conference call. You prayed for me to sleep better. Last night I had the best sleep ever. I woke up refreshed and well rested. Thank you, Jesus! Thank you!– Anonymous Good evening. I sent you a message on the 26th of June asking

for prayer as I was struggling with pornography and you gave me the best advice on how to fight it and I am happy today to tell you that ever since that day my life changed each and every time when I use the internet, I use it for productive things such as watching anything that has to do with Jesus and other good stuff. Mrs. Moses thank you very much for praying for me and having you on my Facebook is a blessing. God bless you. –Anonymous Sis, I just wanted you to know

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

that you really blessed me last night. I was headed in to work and I was running a little late so I got to be on the call the first 10 minutes. You activated something in my spirit. I had been down and depressed for some time now. The enemy had me bound where I couldn’t even open my mouth. I had no desire to pray. I wanted to just give up and end it all because I saw no glimpse of light, but sis, after hearing your voice, my spirit leaped for joy. For ten minutes headed into work, I was praising and thanking God in my car. I’ve been praising and thanking Him while at work all night. My mind has been off my husband and my situation and I can finally hear God after some time now. I hear Him say, “Hold on daughter. Just give it all to me.”–Melissa Here is a testimony from my broadcast today “911 I’m saved but angry.” The Holy Spirit was all over this woman and she told me that she couldn’t stop crying. I got a word of knowledge about her having migraines and her having pain in her jaw and neck. She had this issue for years. She said that all the pain is gone. It doesn’t matter how long you dealt with something, God’s power can set you free.—Prophetess K You prophesied to me and said the check I was waiting for was coming. One day I was on your prayer call and you said someone on here is having child support issues but God said if you would just worship Him, the money

would come. I want to say that I just received a check in the mail. —Kentia I had a conversation with a woman of God the other day and it was very encouraging. She said she sowed her last ten dollars in her account to my ministry because God told her to after I prayed for her. Then the following week she got blessed with $300. This is why I always sow and give unto others because I know the power of seedtime and harvest and sowing and reaping. Don’t stop sowing into the kingdom of God because you will reap a harvest. Prophetess K. Good morning beautiful woman of God. I just wanted to say thank you for praying for me. Last month you prayed for me in ministry and my singing voice. I don’t know if you recall, but you left me a recorded message. Everything you prayed for is coming to pass. You told me to keep you posted on how my voice is doing. I’m sending you a clip from Sunday. Your prayers are working woman of God. I love you. Tonya. This young lady hemoglobin was always low. She thought she had a disorder called beta thalassemia minor in her blood. She was scared that she was going to die. We prayed and God healed her. The doctors tested and retested her blood work and were completely stumped. Don’t accept the diagnosis of the doctor. Believe the report of the Lord. Keep praying for your healing. Alexis.

A young mother sent me a praise report yesterday about her baby. The doctor diagnosed her with a degenerative eye condition. After we prayed she took her baby to the doctor a few weeks later and one of her eyes improved. The doctor told her to keep on doing what she has been doing because it’s working. Don’t stop praying about your situation because God will improve your condition. -Taniqua Hello woman of God. I was on your periscope last night and I just want to let you know it was very refreshing to my soul. I woke up this morning with the Lord on my heart. I woke up praying. God was the first thing on my mind. I prayed all the way to work. It felt so good. I just felt the Lord so strong this morning. I don’t know what it was about last night’s periscope but it really did something. I thank God for you. Please keep them coming. I love you. – Sylvia. Blessing sister. I have a testimony. Glory, glory, glory. I received my examination results. It’s normal! I can’t thank God enough. I’m telling you that I appreciate everything and all the prayers and intercession that went up on my behalf. I’m walking in divine health. Words can’t express how grateful I am towards you!!Anonymous

APOSTLE DEMONTAE EDMONDS Interviewed by Kimberly Moses Interviewer: Thank you on behalf of Rejoice Essential Magazine. I know that you are busy traveling to nations and you have a beautiful family. I’ve been looking at your ministry and been following you. I see that you have a lot of testimonies, particularly in healing and miracles. I watched several of your video clips where you didn’t have to lay hands but you spoke a word and people were getting slain in the Holy Ghost. It was so awesome. I saw lumps dissolve and disappear. It’s so amazing to see God move. So, how did you get started in ministry? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: Haha. Amen. Going back, I was saved at 4 years old. My aunt was a Bible school teacher for kids. She would use me as her practice person when she was setting up her displays. I received salvation in the bedroom when she was just doing her practice. I went to church at a young age, but it was a traditional Baptist church. We didn’t have any demonstration of the Holy Spirit. We didn’t have any healings or deliverance, but we had salvation and water baptism. In my heart, I had a hunger for the things of God. I

had a hunger for the Word. I had a hunger to know about God. I had a hunger to hear from God even though that wasn’t something people talked about or experienced in the circle that I was in. At a young age, I did have a lot of experiences with God and with the Holy Spirit. They were kind of stretched far and in between. So, when I got older, I was just sitting on the couch and the Lord told me that it was time for me to get back in church. I said, ‘Lord, I know that is you speaking. Well, what church do I go to?’ I took a day off from work, though I don’t know why I did that then. I was sitting home watching TV, and then a preacher comes on. I was like this guy is different. I said, “I really like this guy and I don’t know why he is totally different.” So I asked, “Lord who is this guy preaching?” I wrote down his information and said, “I want to go to his church.” The very next week, I saw his program and I went to his church. It was the first Pentecostal Spirit-filled church that I went to and from there, God

began to expose me to Pentecostalism and to the move of the Spirit. He began to use me after I associated myself with that church and with that ministry. That’s what really began that. Interviewer: That’s awesome. What kind of supernatural encounters did you have at a young age? You said that you were hearing God at a young age. Usually when God calls someone, they have visitations. Did you have Jesus appear to you or something so surreal? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: When I was young, I would see demonic stuff and angelic stuff; not frequently but here or there. I had the Lord visit me twice when I was ten years old. When I was six or seven, I had some angelic encounters. Even with those things, it was compartmentalized into my mind. It was so out of the norm. I didn’t have anyone to talk to about it. I told church people about it and they looked at me like I was nuts or they didn’t know how to process it. I compartmentalized a lot of those things. So, as I got older and started seeking the Lord, I would have a lot of encounters

I would have a lot of encounters with the Holy Spirit, visions, and dreams; and the Lord appeared to me several times. with the Holy Spirit, visions, and dreams; and the Lord appeared to me several times. A few weeks ago, He showed me the throne. That was printed out and published. Well, some of it was. It’s gotten to a place now where the supernatural stuff becomes normal for me. It doesn’t move me that much or spook me or overwhelm me. It has become normality. Even with my wife, I tell her certain stuff and she will be like, “Oh okay,” not even wowed by it. Interviewer: That’s awesome. I can relate because when I was in Colorado, I was having a lot of visitations from Jesus. I told my pastor at the time and they were thinking I was crazy. The Holy Spirit had to show me in the Word and confirm some things like if there is a prophet among

you, I will speak to him in a dream or vision. This brought clarity. Initially, I thought I was going crazy because nobody could tell me anything. I can relate. Why is it that the church as a whole doesn’t experience the supernatural? A lot of Christians are complacent in their walk and they don’t experience the supernatural encounters with God. Apostle Demontae Edmonds: One is a mentality that has been pushed from leadership. Leadership sets the tone and sets the paradigm for ministry, for business, for government, for culture, and for society. A lot of times, if the leadership is not sincerely seeking God and is not hungry for God to reveal Himself to them and the people, then the people will be mundane and stagnant in their spiritual walk. Leadership has to create an atmosphere and a culture that is really hungry for the authentic encounter with God. When you do that, people become hungry. One, they believe God can be accessed in a greater way. Two, they believe they can access God in a greater way. Three, they will develop a greater hunger for it. Four, they will actually begin to pursue after those things. I think one of the big things is leadership. Leadership has to have a heart for God and a heart for God to reveal himself to His people. Interviewer: How was the transition for you into the apostolic or when were you called to be an apostle?

Apostle Demontae Edmonds: It was depressing. Interviewer: Was it? Oh no! Apostle Demontae Edmonds: Haha. I knew that He was calling me as an apostle but I thought it would be ten to fifteen years down the line. However, it was a few years down the line versus ten, fifteen, or twenty years down the line. When he called me to be an apostle, it caught me off guard. It was a suddenly. I was so young and it was no young apostles. Now everyone is an apostle. You can have no church, one church, or a phone conference. You can be twenty-one and not really have experience. Everyone especially the African dynamic of ministry is an apostle or calls themselves one. I am not going to say they are real ones. Back then, there wasn’t too many people using the title and there weren’t too many young people. Interviewer: How old were you when you were called? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: It was 2007 when the Lord moved me into it. I would’ve been twenty-six. Interviewer: That’s not too young. Apostle Demontae Edmonds: Yeah, in that period, there weren’t too many

Interviewer: You have so many of them.

people in their mid-twenties or late twenties who were saying they were apostles. That didn’t really happen until the last five or six years. Interviewer: Wow. Look at you now. You are raising up sons and daughters, traveling the world, carrying God everywhere with you, experiencing signs and wonders, and serving as a great role model. I was very impressed when I looked at your ministry. I

put you on the level with Kenneth Copeland and what he does for the Kingdom. You have so many prophecies fulfilled and that’s a blessing because there are so many people with prophecies that never get fulfilled. What was one of the prophecies that blew your mind? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: Wow. Lol! That’s going to be hard to decipher.

Apostle Demontae Edmonds: Yes, I have so many of them and I have to go back into my mental rolodex. I gave one that Obama was going to win two terms before he won the first term. That upset a lot of people because they didn’t want to hear that. I wasn’t supporting him, I was just prophesying. One time, I was talking to Tudor Bismark and I said, “The price of Palladium will prosper. You need to invest in palladium.” He said, “What?” Palladium is a mineral element. Six months later, it tripled and went to its highest price. That was one of them that stood out to me. It just has been so many across the board. I am on the move so much that it’s hard to keep track of the words. It’s been quite a few of them down to the date; for example, God will give me the date of an activity and it would take place on that date. It’s been stuff like that. Interviewer: Wow! I am looking at your prophecies and you have a lot of them directed to the globe and individual nations. To me, it’s very unique because I haven’t met many leaders who give prophecies to nations. Does the Lord have you intercede for different nations? Does He wake you up in the night time hour to

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

pray for these nations? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: Let me go back. This one prophecy that was kind of mind-blowing was when God had me give a 13-page prophecy to a nation. It actually had the month and the years they made physical mistakes. It had some very detailed stuff down to the colors of the records where they could go and pull and look at the months in those records of the mistakes that were made. When I gave it to them, they verified all of it. That was one. They were kind of afraid of me after that to some degree. Lol!

Interviewer: Lol! That’s like the prophets of old. They just prophesied to all these nations, Ezekiel or Jeremiah! Apostle Demontae Edmonds: A lot of times, I am not even interceding for those places. What happens is that He will just give it to me or download it to me. I am just sitting at home. I get mail, spiritual mail. I tell my wife, “Hold on.” Then I pull out the laptop or pen and start writing as He starts speaking to me about it. I feel like if you are faithful in other areas, God will open up new areas to you. I’ve been faithful for the most parts in the areas that He opened up to

me, so He opened up new areas. That’s kind of how it’s been. It’s not so much that I am interceding for certain places, I do if He speaks to me. He will give it to me out of the blue a lot of the times. I will just be minding my business and He will start speaking to me on these places. Interviewer: So, would you say being faithful is a way to increase your gift? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: Yes, because in faithfulness, three things are proven. One is loyalty, two is faith, and three is obedience. Like a husband or wife, if a husband cheats, then that means he has been unfaithful which means that he has been un-loyal. Two, it takes faith to be faithful. You have to trust that you’re being faithful because it will be a reward at the end. Three, you have to be obedient to whatever He told you to do. As you are faithful, He adds to you. I tried to do these long fasts.

You think that you will come off these long fasts and will have more revelations, power, and insight and most of the times, that did not do much for me but being faithful to the Lord day in and day out did. Interviewer: I needed to hear that because I be like, “Lord, I need to go on this long consecra-

tion,” and sometimes I don’t feel any different. How did your ministry name come about, Freedom 4 The Nations? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: I was pastoring a church. God gave me the name, “Freedom for the Christ’s Church.” Freedom means freedom from religion, demonic oppression, sickness, and the past. The scripture says,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty; there is freedom.” When God called me out of pastoring, He called me as an apostle to the nations. He gave me that name, “Freedom 4 the Nations.” He said, “My assignment was the same, but your scope has changed. Your scope has changed from a local sphere of influence to a national or global sphere of influence.” Interviewer: Alright. How did you know that your wife was the one chosen from the Lord? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: I went to a Bible study and while I was sitting there, God gave me words for everybody. He said, “That young lady, her husband’s in the room.” So, I and one of the guys were debating, “Is it him or is it that guy?” We were like well, we will find out. So, a few weeks later, I was driving and the Lord said, “The young lady in the Bible study is your wife.” I said, “What!” He told me to ask her two questions and what the answers would be and that it would match up to what He told me years ago about my wife. He spoke to me in the car, but He already told me that her husband was in the room but I didn’t think it was me.

Interviewer: Aww, that’s so beautiful. How do you balance family and ministry? Apostle Demontae Edmonds: You have to be very intentional doing it. The more children you have, you have to prioritize and say no to a lot of stuff. A lot of people want you to be their problem-solver or over-invest yourself into their issues. You have to learn to say no and point

people back to God so you don’t become overly imbalance. You have to prioritize. There are specific times of the day where I don’t take phone calls. On Friday nights, I don’t do a lot of meetings because that’s family time and we will go out at the end of the week. You just have to be intentional about time management and prioritization. Interviewer: That’s good. I like

in their thinking, their walk with God, and their experience with God; but at the same time, they should not leave the foundation and not leave the heart and mind of God on different issues and Kingdom lifestyles. that. You have several conferences coming up. Apostle Demontae Edmonds: I have the Prophetic Surge Conference in September. I am working on stuff in different areas like Hawaii, Paris, Nigeria, Hong Kong, and more things. Interviewer: What is God speaking to you about this generation?

Apostle Demontae Edmonds: One of the things He has spoken to me about this generation and with their desire to be radical is the need to be careful not to compromise truth and the character of God. Sometimes, trying to be so radical and trying to break tradition, you go so far to the left that you get away from the heart and mind of God. I believe that God wants this generation to experience a new liberty

AND YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH By Reynaldo Rodriguez

How much faith you have is dependent upon how well you know the object of your faith, that is the second simple faith concept we need to learn. “This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and con-

trite in spirit, and who tremble at my word”. (Isaiah 66: 1 – 2) When people struggle with their faith in God, it is not because their faith object has failed or is insufficient. It is because they don’t have a true knowledge of God and His ways. The expect Him to respond in a certain way or answer prayer a certain way— these way, not His—and when He doesn’t comply they say, “Forget you, God.” The problem is not with God. He is the perfect faith object.

Faith in God fails only when people have a faulty understanding of Him. If you want your faith in God to increase, you must increase your knowledge of God. If you have little knowledge about God and His Word, you will have little faith. If you have great knowledge of God and His Word, you can potentially have great faith. Faith cannot be pumped up by coaxing (persuading) yourself, If only I can believe! If only I can believe! You can believe because belief is a choice we all have to make.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

Any attempt to push yourself beyond what you know to be true about God and His ways is to move from faith to presumption. You choose to believe God according to what you know to be truth from His Word. The only way to increase your faith is to increase your knowledge of God, who is the believer only legitimate faith object. That is why Paul wrote, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” (Romans 10: 17). The knowledge of His wisdom, His words are a secret waiting to be discover revealed in the Bible. If you have little knowledge about God and His Word, you will have little faith. If you have great knowledge of God and His Word, you can potentially have great faith. There is no run around here. Our spiritual necessity of reading God’s words is as vital as the next breath of oxygen you will take right now as you read these words. Otherwise we die spiritually as we would die physically if we stop breathing. The only limit to your faith is your knowledge and understanding of God, which grows every time you read your Bible, memorize a Scripture verse, participate in a Bible study or meditate on His Word. Can you see the practical, tangible potential for your faith to grow as you endeavor to know God through His Word? It is bound only by the infinite nature of God! I doubt there is a Christian

alive who has lived up to his or her faith potential based on what he or she already knows to be true. It is important to know that God is under no obligation to humankind. We can’t maneuver or manipulate God through prayer. He is under obligation to Himself and to remain faithful to His covenant promises and His Word. We have a covenant relationship with God that we can count on being true: “Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13: 20 – 21). According to this scripture, who is the holy writer identifying as the sole responsible to equip us with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ. Regarding this same principle, Paul shares with the Philippians: “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1: 6) When it comes to our sanctification, faithfulness, and obedience, we are not orphans, we are not alone in our journey and our perspective changes, grow, and amplify, when we see things,

through God’s eyes. Notice that God operates in us through JESUS. “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ,” (Colossians 2: 9 – 11) “If God declares something to be true, you simply believe Him and live according to what is true. If God’s didn’t say it, no amount of faith in the world will make it so. Believing doesn’t make God’s Word true. His Word is true; therefore we believe. As disciples of Christ, we have an obligation to do more than lead our love ones to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We need to help them understand their spiritual identity when they become children of God. I can’t go everywhere my children go, but God can and He does.

NOW TO HIM By Reynaldo Rodriguez

Faith is an action word. “Faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, You have faith, and I have works, show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works” (James 2: 17 – 18). In other words, really believing will affect one’s walk and one’s talk. If we believe God and His Word, we will live accordingly: faithful obedience. An example of this is found in the first book of Samuel: “But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices

as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15: 22) Everything we do is essentially a product of what we have chosen to believe. Now faith without action is one distortion, but the New Age and Positive Confession movements offer two other distortions of what it means to biblically believe. The New Age belief says, “If you believe hard enough, it will become true.” Christianity says, “It is true, therefore we believe it.” Believing

something doesn’t make it true and not believing something doesn’t make it false. Not believing in hell doesn’t lower the temperature down there one degree. The Positive Confession movement has another interpretation of faith that is partially true. Consider the words of Jesus in Matthew 17: 20: “He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2018

move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

will come soon and take us out of this miserable defeat.

The Positive Confession movement correctly points out that the mountain doesn’t move until you say it. In other words, even the smallest faith doesn’t work until it is acted upon, which is the emphasis of the passage in Matthew 17. But the Positive Confession teaching becomes distorted when one thinks the mountain has to move simply because one says it. Taking the Positive Confession idea too far borders on New Age thinking, which says we can create reality with our minds. To do that, we would have to be gods, and that is exactly what New Agers are teaching.

The church is not an infirmary; it is our military outpost under orders to storm the rusty gates of hell. Every true believer is a soldier on active duty, called to take part in fulfilling the Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Matthew 28: 19 – 20).

There is only one Creator and only one who can speak anything into existence. “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19: 26), and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, but we have never been given the privilege to determine for ourselves what we want to believe. The New Agers want us to believe we are God, and the “name and claim it” proponents want us to act as though we are God. God wants His children to believe Him and live accordingly. Those distortions often arise when the church is not living up to its potential. Consequently, many people think the church is an infirmary where people go. We limp along in unbelief, hoping the rapture

Thankfully, the church has an infirmary that ministers to the weak and the wounded, but the infirmary exists only for the purpose of the military outpost. Our real calling is to be change agents in the world, taking a stand, living by faith and fulfilling our purpose for being here. “Whether you think you can or whether you think you cannot, either way you are right” (J.C. Penney). Consider what the world has accomplished just by believing in itself? How much more could be accomplish if we really believed in God? Some in the Christian community have been somewhat reluctant to buy into the power of positive thinking, and for good reason. We buy into the power of positive thinking and thoughts; we are called to think the truth. Without God as the object of our faith, thinking is merely a function of the mind that cannot exceed its

input and attributes. Attempting to push the mind beyond its limitations will result only in moving from the world of reality to fantasy. The Christian however, has far greater potential for success in life through the power of believing the truth. Belief incorporates the mind, but is not limited by it. Faith actually transcends the limitations of the mind and incorporates the real but unseen world. The believer’s faith is as valid as its object, which is the living (Christ) and written (Bible) Word of God. If you have the infinite God of the universe as the object of your Christian faith, you can go wherever God leads you.
