BLK by Gallery is bringing luxury menswear to Sheffield. The Devonshire Quarter is known for being one of Sheffield’s coolest hangouts, and with the arrival of contemporary menswear store BLK by Gallery back in October, the area now has a touch more of a luxurious feel to it. CityMag popped in to find out more about Devonshire Street’s latest arrival.

INSIDE, the store is minimal, clean and crisp – the white walls are lined with luxury, high-fashion pieces and footwear is displayed on shiny black shelving units. It’s all part of the sleek, contemporary feel that owner Yasin Mir – who really knows what he’s talking about, he’s got 25 years’ experience in the fashion industry – wanted BLK to have when he opened up shop three months ago. Helping him run the place is manager Bal and assistant manager Shaz. “Everything here is luxury and contemporary,” said Yasin. “That’s what we wanted to bring to Sheffield.” And with designers such as Rick Owen, Buscemi,

– it’s about creating a look and a lifestyle for people.” Yasin said: “The look of the store is very contemporary, but it’s about the clothing too. We’ve got catwalk pieces in Philipp Plein and Boris Bidjan, none of which can be found in any other shops in Sheffield, the shop has already found regular custom in some of the city’s most fashionable chaps. But it’s not just about selling guys t-shirts, explained Bal. “It’s not just about selling products, we’re really passionate about what we do

here and some really cool stuff that you’re not going to see everywhere. Same with the brands, people are already surprised at what we’ve got.”
