Message from the President

Dear friends, Welcome to Re:Gender’s 2014 Annual Awards Dinner. Thank you for joining us to celebrate and congratulate our dynamic group of Honorees, Trailblazers, special guests and performers. Tonight, difference is apparent and not just in the venue, food and colors. The different institutions and individuals in this room and on the stage represent our cross-sector network and illuminate the renewed mission and vision of Re:Gender. Our gender lens is focused not on one group, sector or issue but on connections. By generating communication between those who conduct research and those who use it, and by activating connections among disparate issues, we are broadening and advancing the path to gender equity. Together, we are making it possible to fully regard gender difference as a core strength and create a society in which shared leadership, economic well-being and an end to sexual violence will be realized. We are excited to move forward with all of you in reshaping the world to enjoy and value our differences. Warmly,

Ă ine Duggan

Vision & Mission We envision a world in which gender and sex are not used to determine one’s worth or opportunity. Re:Gender works to end gender inequity and discrimination against girls and women by exposing root causes and advancing research-informed action. Working with multiple sectors and disciplines, we are shaping a world that demands fairness across difference.

Strategic Approach Re:Gender facilitates better alignment between researchers and those who use research, including policy, advocacy, corporate and community groups. We embrace difference—of sector, of demographic, of perspective—to advance research-based action.

Network Our expanded network connects research, policy and practice to end gender inequity. The network is comprised of national, state and local-level crosssector individuals and institutions.
