L’antica arte dei merletti continua ad affascinare gli artisti: è il caso di Flora Viale, artista italo-statunitense che in occasione della Biennale Arte presenta nel piccolo ma prezioso museo nell’isola di Burano, una serie di “frammenti”, fulcro del suo atto creativo, carichi di significati e quesiti cui dare risposta. The ancient lace-making art continues to charm artists: it is the case of Flora Viale, an Italo-American artist who is presenting a series of “fragments”, the core of her creative action, full of significance and questions to answer, in the small but precious museum on the island of Burano, for the occasion of the Art Biennale. ISola dI San FrancESco dEl dESErTo Linea 12 Actv con partenza da Fondamenta Nove, fino a Burano, segue mezzo della linea 9 per Torcello Oltre il paesaggio mistico. Arte ambientale. Fino al 20 agosto. Un singolare allestimento presenta per la prima volta in questo sito ad altissimo interesse paesaggistico, oltre che ambientale e storico, una serie di opere d’arte contemporanee create appositamente per il luogo. Il tema dell’evento vuole attualizzare l’atmosfera spirituale dell’isola di San Francesco dove, secondo la storia, arrivò nel 1220 il Santo al suo ritorno dall’Oriente. ISland oF San FrancESco dEl dESErTo Actv boat line 12 departing from Fondamenta Nove stop, to Burano followed by boat line 9 to Torcello Beyond the mystic landscape. Environment art. Until 20 August. A singular display presenting for the first time a series of contemporary artwork created expressly for this location, a site with highly panoramic as well as environmental and historical appeal. The theme of this event wishes to bring up the spiritual atmosphere of the island of Saint Francis, where the Saint arrived in 1220 according to history, on his return from the East. Today the island is managed by a congregation of Franciscan Friars. Curator Simonetta Gorreri. Open: 9-11am / 3-5pm; closed on Monday. Admission free.
