In this little book we just wanted to collect some info about us for people meeting us for the first time and common mistakes people make when talking about Maraaya. Some may seem funny or silly, but you wouldn’t believe all the stuff we’ve heard regarding basic things about us…  We hope you like it! Maraaya are representatives of Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2015 Their song is called Here for you.

In Slovenian spoken language, “Maraaya” means “ ima raaya”, which means “she has Raay”.

- Raay is written with 2 a's maraaya is often mistakenly pronounced as MARIAH due to 2 a’s (marAAya) … the correct pronounciation is “Maraya”, as if Ray only had one a.

-Marjetka wants to evoke the same emotions she feels in the studio while recording. Artists are recording in the studio with big headphones. - Don’t worry, Marjetka doesn’t have disfigured ears.

Headphones became their trademark and are a part of their graphic image as well. Due to Eurovision rules regarding brands, the headphones will be pimped, and the logo of Sennheiser will be hidden with SWAROVSKI crystals for their performance at ESC. 32

THE AIR VIOLINIST DIDN’T FORGET THE VIOLIN AT HOME…

The air violinist will perform with Maraaya on stage (and three backing vocalists off stage).

TRY IT – YOU JUST MIGHT ENJOY IT! - While Sennheiser had approached Maraaya after winning the Slovenian national final and became their main headphones supplier, the air violinist still awaits a violin supplier so she can try to play a real violin some day  The air violinist will perform with Maraaya on stage (and three backing vocalists off stage).
