A QUAIL HOLLOW EXPERIENCE

In early September, our 2022 Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow, Mia Hayasaki, had the privilege of working the 2022 Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow Club. Part of her experience included working alongside her fellow Carolinas PGA Section staff members to pick up the range and sort golf balls for the United States and International teams before their rounds. While inside the club house, Mia built relationships with the Quail Hollow staff and became a real member of their team. Each morning, she greeted the Quail Hollow members as they arrived for the event. Mia also worked closely with the serving staff who were all students in the University of South Carolina’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management program. Mia had the benefit of discussing with the students her experiences as a PGA WORKS fellow and how she came into this position. The highlight of her Presidents Cup experience involved getting a full site tour by Quail Hollow’s Director of Golf, Tom DeLozier. She was able to see the ins and outs of one of the world’s most important golf tournaments!
