ROOSEVELT PARK REVITALIZATION by Radhya Adityavarman


New sign proposal welcomes visitors and shares the history of the park as well as upcoming events.


“I don’t know alot about the park, I think it was

built sometime in the 80s and hasn’t really been properly maintained. It’s a shame because it’s at a great location.” -store owner


A unique area to rest, relax and reflect


“I usually come to this gazebo to have lunch on my break, sometimes we play dominoes in the evenings until it gets too dark, it’s one of my favorite spots on the island, I usually see a new face or two here.”

A space for exclusively for kids to escape made fro recycled materials


“I come here everyday after school to play and meet

my friends, it’s cool beacuse my parents let me come here alone... let’s race!” -young child

“The landfill is our biggest issue, though we recycle some things we are always looking for ways to dispose of it.” - island native


Restoring the basketball courts, clearing the paved area for new activities.


“I know the park youre talking about, I don’t go there a lot but sometimes I play basketball. Recently constructers are using the

place to park their trucks while the build the houses up the hill.�

Gardens reveal the native plants and educates children about growing plants.


“I wish more people can see the beauty of this place,

sure the beaches are great but there is so much more about the island that people have to come here to see for themselves.� - woman on the beach


Introducing a new space where locals and tourists can gather for events and parties.


“We have a farmer’s market every Saturday, everybody comes, we

play music, and make food. It’s great, I see new faces every week.”

Equipting the park with WiFi


“There aren’t alot of places where you can get WiFi here, there is a spot in front of the Taste and Sea that we usually go to, the yacht club also has it but you have to pay and it only lasts for 30 minutes.”

“Never in a million years did I think I would see a house that big on this island, it’s really growing fast it seems like everyday there’s something new underconstruction.”
