Erica &Ken Erica DeLong spends a lot of time in the public eye (and ear!) as co-host on G105’s Bob & The Showgram. So when it came to planning their wedding, Erica and Ken (AKA Boston) knew they wanted something intimate and laid back that was simply a celebration of their love – just like their engagement. On New Year’s Eve, Ken sent Erica a message to meet him at Duke Gardens for a surprise proposal. Erica left the nail salon to meet him, and found him at the end of a trail of heart-shaped balloons; standing on the bridge surrounded by rose petals and chilled champagne. He asked, and she of course said yes, and her only regret was that she had zipped out of the salon – still in her pajamas! The bride met Linda and Bruce, the owners of The Barn at Woodlake Meadows, at the NC State Fair and hit it off right away. After much encouragement from her wedding planner, Jill of JMADE Weddings, Erica decided to tour their venue and immediately fell in love with the amazing property. Vows were exchanged by the pond in front of a stunning backdrop of cascading wildflowers created by Blossom Floral Artistry. The couple made simple and beautiful promises of love, with Ken’s father and Erica’s sister by their side. After the ceremony, Erica changed into a lovely bohemian chic dress and traded her veil for a floral crown. The reception inside the barn was elegant and classic without being pretentious or stuffy - exactly what the bride wanted. Navy pin tuck linens and ivory runners adorned farm tables, with vineyard chairs and gold, formal accents in the and decor. Brightly colored florals by Blossom Floral 108

Artistry were abundant in shades of coral, fuchsia and purple, the perfect combination of chic elegance and boho charm. A delicious meal was created by the always-amazing Rocky Top Catering, and the “naked cake” topped with magenta roses served as a sweet dessert. With so many wonderful personalities in attendance, the party was lively and fun with plenty of dancing and revelry, including a special rendition of the “whip and ne-ne” by the bridal party! Other evening entertainment featured s’mores at the fire pit and an incredible fireworks display by the wedding venue. The sparkler exit sent the newlyweds off to their on-site wedding suite, along with their sweet pup Lucy! The natural beauty of the surroundings and an incredible team of vendors went above and beyond to give this bride and groom their dream “fairy tale wedding.”
