Jethro, his father-in-law, at the foot of Mount Horeb, or Sinai. An angel appeared
unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush and ordained him to bring the
children of Israel out of Egypt.
Pharoah rebelled against the mission of Moses and great trouble came to Egypt.
God sent ten (10) plagues upon Egypt by the hand of Moses, one following the other.
When the proper time came for Israel to leave, God gave Moses full instructions
for making preparation to leave Egypt. They were to kill a lamb. “And they shall
take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts, and on the upper door post of the
houses, wherein they shall eat it”, (Exodus 12:7).
The angel passed over the houses where the blood was sprinkled, but in the
houses of the Egyptians that did not have the blood, the first horn was slain. “For I
will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all the first born in the
land of Egypt, both man and beast, and against all the gods of Egypt. and the blood
shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I
will pass over you”, (Exodus 1213,14).
