ﻏﺰل
ز دسـت کوتـه خود زیر بارم Laden with my ignorant ties
کـه از باالبلـندان شرمـسارم Ashamed of the courageous and wise
مـگر زنجیر مویی گیردم دست May a hidden hand help me rise
وگر نـه سر بـه شیدایی برآرم Or else madness becomes my prize.
ز چشم من بپرس اوضاع گردون Of stars and fate ask of my eyes
کـه شب تا روز اختر میشمارم That watch the havens until sunrise.
بدین شکرانه میبوسم لب جام I kiss the cup that me apprise
کـه کرد آگـه ز راز روزگارم Of the world’s turnings and its disguise.
اگر گفـتـم دعای می فروشان Praise of wine-sellers’ reprise
چـه باشد حق نعمت میگزارم Praise of God’s bounty, why despise.
