Ministering to Others
Love Packages Eagle Nest Ministries in Butler, Illinois is an organization that sends Christian literature to thousands of churches overseas. They currently send 20-foot ocean going containers (Love Packages) to port cities around the world. These locations act as distribution points to distribute materials to reach souls for Christ, encourage and build up the church, and raise up and train leaders to shine the Light of Christ in dark places. If you have non-fiction Christian materials you’re no longer using and would like to share, please drop them into the bin located under the coat rack next to the youth room. If you have questions about this program, contact Sharon Rumbold at 309 -222-4085. Bethel Food Pantry Bethel Lutheran Church operates a food pantry that provides some of the basic staples for those in our community who are in need of supplementing their food budget. Do you know a relative, friend, or neighbor who is going through some hard times, but may be too proud to ask for help? You and the Bethel Food Pantry can help by providing a food box to those in need. Boxes are packed by a family’s size. Distribution of non-perishable food items are on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 am. All you have to do is call the church office at 309-263-2417 by noon on the Tuesday before a distribution Friday to reserve a large or small family box. If you cannot make the distribution, please call the office and make arrangements to pick up your box, which will be held until the following Wednesday. Please contact the church office with questions. 309-263-2417
