R a dio, as unique as the Olympic Ga m es We invite you to a special event now taking place in London: The Olympic Pop-Up Radio Station, brought to you by the International Radio Festival Zurich from 20th July – 12th August. Throughout the Games we’re broadcasting contemporary Swiss and British urban sounds, and are welcoming renowned music radio DJ‘s, bands, celebrities and athletes, from Switzerland and the UK. We’ll also keep you posted on Olympic highlights, results and gossip. Our shows are in English, with a few in German or French. Our studio is housed inside a funky Swiss Postal Bus, which we’ve driven from Zurich to London. It is now parked behind Glaziers Hall at London Bridge, from where we’re broadcasting live 24/7, on DAB across London and online around the world. Check out the programme on the following pages. A Bout The International Radio Festival Zurich showcases the best music radio stations on earth. In only its 3rd year it has already established itself as the global annual event for people at the cutting edge of the music radio industry. For our Olympic Pop-Up, we‘ve teamed up with Swiss Music Portal MX3, to join the festivities at the House of Switzerland, the official Swiss hospitality centre during the Olympic Games. It‘s located at Glaziers Hall next to London Bridge, and we’re inviting everyone to come along and celebrate Swiss culture. Shortly after, from 12th –15th September, we’ll be hosting the International Radio Festival 2012. We‘ll be welcoming over thirty avant-garde radio stations / DJ’s from 5 continents. We‘ll be broadcasting their shows live from Zurich, via Web-Radio, to millions of listeners around the globe. Tune in and ‘Listen to how the world sounds’. morning progr a m m e 7am – 1pm We’re starting every day with a recap of the previous day‘s Olympic highlights, plus a cultural round-up of what’s happening elsewhere in London. And of course great music to wake up to. Then it’s time for our official Morning Show and some fresh sounds from Switzerland, intercut with news and interviews live from the House of Switzerland. Plus we’re hosting daily competitions with some great prizes. Right before noon it’s your turn. Visitors to our studio bus can get involved in shaping our playlist, choosing tracks they love from our music library to play live on air.


afternoon p rogr a m m e 1pm – 7pm In the afternoon it’s all about our guests. We‘ll be welcoming some of the biggest names in the Swiss and UK music radio industry, letting them tell their story and playing us some of their favourite tunes. They’ll play styles right across the board, from Chill Out through to Hip Hop, Dubstep, House, Indie Rock and Electro and Clubby Tech beats. Expect some very fine DJ mixes. Of course we will never lose sight of the Olympics. Other guests will include athletes taking part in the games, celebrating their sporting achievements with us. Fingers crossed for some medals.


evening p rogr a m m e 7pm – 11pm Our evenings are dedicated to culture, with live broadcasts from the House of Switzerland. Expect live concerts from emerging Swiss bands, interviews, discussions and plenty of lively banter. There’s more to Switzerland than chocolate and cheese, so we’ll also be talking about culture, history, style and travel tips. And of course, showcase the country’s vibrant underground music scene. To end the day, our local friend Normski takes us on a personal journey through London, his home town. Expect lots of cheeky chat along with the latest club beats.

Sw iss R a dio Tour Before our Studio Bus heads for London, we’re embarking on our ‘Swiss Radio Tour‘. We’ll be visiting six major Swiss cities, broadcasting live from each and capturing the Olympic vibe. In each city we’re setting up camp for the day and inviting local celebrities, athletes, musicians, DJ‘s and fans to come along and celebrate the Olympic Games with us. There will be interviews, lively chat and lots of shout outs to our Swiss athletes, all from inside our studio bus. And of course lots of cool music. The highlight of each city‘s visit is an un-plugged concert performed by two local bands. From all the bands playing on the tour, one will be specially chosen and flown to London to perform in a unique setting, live on stage from the House of Switzerland on the Olympic Games closing night. Now she resides in London and broadcasts mainly for Ireland’s RTE 2XM. Gabby adds a sparkle to every show.
