The Wedding Experience

Welcome We are Robin + Bryce, a husband and wife photography team. We pride ourselves on our ability to make people comfortable in front of the lens , allowing their love to exist in its most natural state. It’s so important to us, because the pure bliss between lovebirds on their wedding day is impossible to fully capture when they’re uncomfortable, but we know we’re all our most stunning when our true selves are what shines through.

The Experience We’ve been through the wedding planning process ourselves and know just how stressful it can be. We are advocates for planning ahead especially when it comes to your wedding day. Before Your Big Day One to two months prior to your wedding (by this time everything should be wrapped up and set in stone) we will meet wherever you like, often in the clients home for at least an hour. We will ask you a million questions about your wedding i.e. color, other vendors involved, how many guests you will have etc. We will also create a timeline for the day with you from when you would like us to arrive to the last dance. It works nicely as husband and wife photographers as we often have clients who would like pre-ceremony shots. I am able to meet up with the bride and her entourage and get those great shots of her and the other ladies getting ready and Bryce can get the guys getting ready as well as some fun groomsmen shots. We like to visit your venue before the wedding day to check out lighting and layout. This gives us a chance to prepare and make a game plan as to where we will want to be at certain times to get the best shots. Your Wedding Day When it comes to your big day we are ready to go and as excited as you are. We have our gear packed, loaded, and ready to set up. I always carry a small bottle of hair spray, bobby pins, small sewing kit, and safety pins; in case of a hair or dress emergency. With all of our pre-planning and my husband’s great problem solving skills we are ready to tackle your big day. We capture everything from you getting your hair done, first kiss, first dance, down to all of the details and decorations that you put so much time in to. We want to capture everything that we can from your wedding.

Your Engagement Session Having a good relationship with your wedding photographer is a must. Out of all of your wedding vendors we will probably spend the most time with you. Your engagement session is a great time for us to get to know each other. It will allow you to get to know how we work, and how we handle posing and lighting. This session will truly make a huge impact in the flow of your wedding day. We’ll arrive on your wedding day already knowing how you two interact, what your best poses are and how to best capture you in a genuine way!

Your engagement is a special time in your life. It’s a new chapter in your love story. Enjoy it and document it! Engagement photos are great to use to for your save-thedate, invitations, announcements, and wonderful pieces to hang in your home. Some people are camera shy. We completely understand this! Your engagement session is a great dry run for your wedding day. This will give you a chance to get used to being in front of the camera, having us follow you around all day, and help you to get over your fear of being in front of the camera. Your engagement session can be booked anytime before your wedding day. We typically suggest booking your session 3-6 months before your wedding day. In preparation for your session you will need to start brainstorming location ideas. We love when couples choose a location that is special to them. If you don’t have a specific location in mind we are happy to help and always have suggestions!

Engagement Session Prep Having your photo taken can always be a little overwhelming. Here are a few tips for outfits and accessories to help make your session preparation a little easier!

-Don’t try to match. Instead coordinate your outfits. -Don’t be afraid to be bold. Scarves, bold jewelry, and fun shoes are always welcome! -Most patterns are ok as long as they are not overwhelming or distracting. Graphics are not favorable for portraits. -Be sure to empty your pockets of cell phones, wallets and sunglasses before your session as these will be seen through your pockets. -Often couples like to wear a more casual outfit as well as a dressier option. This will give your session two different vibes and your images a different mood.

-Make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing. Ladies, wearing a low cut top or short dress or skirt will limit the angles we can photograph you. -Clean your ring before your session. We love to get details shots and the cleaner your ring is the better! -We always try to best accommodate our couples’ schedules. We do recommend early morning or later in the day sessions for best lighting. -Most importantly, relax! You don’t need to be a pro. We will help you along the way and make it fun! Enjoy this time together and make a date of it!

Wedding Tips & Reminders

Cushion time-When planning your timeline be sure to include some cushion time throughout the day. Its always best to give yourself some extra time on your wedding day. The Details-If possible gather all of your details (rings, shoes, jewelry, bouquets, etc.) before we arrive so that we can get right to work when we arrive and ensure we have plenty of time to get venue and getting ready shots. Keep all Three Rings-Be sure to have all three rings with you so that we can get you those lovely ring shots!

The Dress-When getting into your dress once the dress is on we always try to have our brides get buttoned up and adjusted near a window for best lighting, We love working with natural light and giving you those dreamy soft lit images. Extra details-Ask your florist if they would be willing to include extra greenery and filler flowers. These extra piece are great for us to incorporate into your details images. Go with the Flow-Not everything will go as planned and its ok! This is normal. Just relax and go with the flow. Most Importantly-Be sure to enjoy your wedding day and be present! Planning and details are necessary but don’t lose sight of the real purpose of this great day!
