Born in Tel Aviv in 1961, Rami enlisted in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in 1980 He was assigned to the Paratroopers Brigade, specifically Battalion 890. During the first Lebanon War, he served in the eastern sector as part of an infantry cadet battalion, gaining critical frontline experience. Following the conflict, he excelled in the combat officers’ course, graduating with the highest distinction and ranking first among 250 special forces cadets. He returned to his unit in August 1982, taking on the role of platoon commander, where he led his troops with determination and skill.
Injured in Combat
In 1983, while stationed in the Ein Zhalta region of the Shouf Mountains in Lebanon, he participated in an operational mission led by the battalion commander During this mission, a unit commanded by a second lieutenant entered a wild minefield, resulting in three soldiers sustaining injuries from mines they inadvertently stepped on Rami was sent as part of the rescue team to provide aid. During the rescue, he stepped on a mine hidden inside a terrace. The explosion caused him to lose his right hand and left foot, and he suffered serious injuries to his left hand
After extensive rehabilitation, he returned to military reserve duty in an elite unit and remained active in the reserves Most recently, during the ongoing conflict, he served on active reserve duty for 450 days with the Elite 98 Brigade, demonstrating his continued commitment despite his injuries
Beracha’s Professional Career
After his military service, Rami Beracha began his professional career as an attorney at a prominent Wall Street law firm He specialized in restructuring and securities law for four years, building a strong foundation in complex financial and legal issues
Rami later transitioned into venture capital and spent 18 years as a managing partner at Israel’s largest venture capital fund This firm manages over $2 5 billion in assets and has facilitated 90 mergers and acquisitions and 25 initial public offerings. In his role, he concentrated on deep technology and Web 2 investments, serving on the boards of multiple startups that were eventually acquired by major technology companies such as Apple, Cisco, Marvel, Microsoft, Oracle, Allscripts, ServiceNow, AppsFlyer, and Quotient Technology.
Throughout his venture capital career, he was repeatedly nominated among the top five venture capital partners in Israel and has contributed to more than 20 successful exits In 2011, he was recognized as the “Most Respected Partner” in an annual survey by a leading Israeli business publication, reflecting the high regard entrepreneurs and industry leaders hold him.
General Partner, Eden Block
In 2018, he joined Eden Block as a general partner Eden Block is a global venture capital fund that advances blockchain technologies and the decentralized digital economy. His experience guiding startups from early funding through growth, market entry, and eventual exits has been instrumental to the fund and its portfolio.
His expertise includes product development, team building, go-to-market strategies, business modeling, and mergers and acquisitions negotiations. He advises founders on overcoming challenges at all stages of their startups’ growth

Beracha’s Passion for Extreme Sports Activity
Before his injury, he was an active athlete and competitive tennis player, participating in the national league with a prominent tennis club His love of sports remained undiminished even after his injury, reflecting his spirit and determination.
Despite physical challenges, he continued playing tennis and took up extreme sports, including mountain biking, snowboarding, and kitesurfing, a demanding sport requiring significant physical and mental strength He also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, demonstrating perseverance and commitment to personal goals
Today, he is considered an expert kitesurfer and is believed to be among the few worldwide to have mastered the sport despite losing two limbs. His achievements in sports stand as a testament to his resilience and refusal to let adversity define him
His Volunteer Work
He is deeply involved in volunteer work and philanthropy He serves as an association board member dedicated to supporting disabled IDF veterans. This association provides critical assistance, including mental health care, PTSD support, education, financial help, and comprehensive well-being programs.
He often speaks to groups of military officers, entrepreneurs, injured soldiers, and students, sharing his experiences and lessons on resilience, leadership, and decision-making under pressure

Beracha’s Education
Rami Beracha earned his Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from Tel Aviv University in 1989. He then completed a Master of Laws (LLM) in Banking and Financing at Fordham University in New York in 1992. Additionally, he holds an MBA from INSEAD in France, giving him a solid foundation in law, finance, and business management.
