THE TOURISM CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES Pursuant to Section 104 of the Republic Act 9593, otherwise known as the Tourism Act of 2009 and Section 137 of its Implementing Rules and Regulation as amended, the Tourism Congress Inc., hereinafter also after referred to as the Congress, is constituted.
The principal office of the Tourism Congress Inc. shall be located at Enderun Colleges, 1100 Campus Avenue, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, Metro Manila.
In addition to the purposes enumerated in the Articles of Incorporation, the purposes for which Tourism Congress Inc. is created are:
a. To serve as the private sector consultative body to assist the government in the development, implementation and coordination of Philippine tourism policy (Section 104, RA NO. 9593); b. To nominate such representatives as required under RA No. 9593 (Section 104, RA No. 9593); c. To make recommendations for appointment by the President of representative directors of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Board, Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) Board and Tourism Infrastructure Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) Board pursuant to Section 65, paragraph (g) of RA No. 9593; d. To collaborate and coordinate efforts and resources of private sectors industry stakeholder in the formulation and development of strategies to sustain economic growth which may serve as vital inouts to the government through the Department of Tourism; e. To serve as an important link in developing a stronger and an institutionalized partnership between the government through the Department of Tourism and the private sector industry stakeholders; f.
To promote favorable working relations among the tourism industry stakeholders thereby ensuring a more responsible and healthy business environment;
g. To serve as the voice of the tourism industry on matters of national interest, particularly those that affect the private sector; h. To do such other acts as consistent with and beneficial to the Philippine tourism policy.
TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY CAREER FAIR 2016 The Tourism Congress of the Philippines (TCP) held the first ever job fair in the country that is specifically geared towards the tourism and hospitality industry—the Tourism and Hospitality Career Fair. It aims to match employers and applicants on a one-day, B2B-style appointments and interviews.
A maximum of 30 interview schedules per day is allotted per employer—a recruitment activity at its best. The Tourism and Hospitality Career Fair, or the THCF, is being brought nationwide allowing all the 3 regions—Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to take part.
TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY CAREER FAIR 2016 The THCF brings together sectors under the tourism industry in each region to recruit and promote career opportunities, internships and graduate school programs. The event attendees are not limited to tourism and hospitality students, graduates, and jobseekers.
Upon registration, meeting schedules are autogenerated through a matchmaking system. Applicants are matched with the employers depending on their mutual interests. The autogenerated schedules are provided to the employers and applicants as their interview schedule guide during the career fair.
