STANDARDS AUSTRALIAN DESIGNED AND AUSTRALIAN APPROVED, WE STRICTLY TEST TO AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS Staying warm, dry and protected is always the aim of the game when it comes to your weather proof wardrobe. That’s why we rigorously test all of our fabrics to ensure we’re giving you the right information. Rainbird is an Australian company, that’s why we always test to Australian standards. But don’t worry, we know how confusing the ratings can be when you’re out and about shopping for that perfect weather-proof item. But it’s always worth asking the question: which country is that rating adhering to? Otherwise you’ll never get a true evaluation of the product in hand. As an approximate comparison, check out the below waterproof ratings for the exact same piece of fabric we tested: Australian and New Zealand Standards = 10,000mm Japan Industry Standards = 20,000mm

So always remember to ask which countries ratings have been used! The higher the number doesn’t always mean the better the performance if you’re comparing varying standards.

PRODUCTS

To ensure that our customers get consistent, good quality products and services our supply chain is either ISO 9000 certified or we encourage our suppliers to follow these practices to ensure quality management systems are in place.

By manufacturing high-quality garments that last for years, products are kept out of landfill and reduces the need to purchase replacement products.

Our high standards ensure that the products and services we provide consistently meet customer requirements, and that quality is consistently improved. Whenever possible we use recycled content to reduce landfill waste and the use of virgin raw materials. We set expectations with our fabric mills and dye houses that they are to take actions to reduce the potential harmful environmental impacts of chemicals. We ensure that carcinogenic dyes are not used in the production of our products â&#x20AC;&#x201C; we encourage and influence our suppliers to have a certificate of conformity from Oeko-Tex which demonstrates that the fabric has been tested and conforms to their standards for harmful substances. Whenever possible using yarn made from natural materials that are sustainable and versatile resources such as bamboo. Assurance of animal welfare is ensured by using high quality synthetic fills and faux fur on garments.

Our garments are backed with a 3 year warranty. Whenever possible we use sustainable innovation as a part of the development of new products. By working with suppliers that make high-quality materials and goods we are conscientious of reducing their environmental and social impact.

PACKAGING AND DELIVERY We ensure that all polybags used in the packaging of our products are recyclable. All hangers we use are recyclable. By reducing waste through packaging innovation, without compromising on our strict quality control and product manufacturing requirements. We follow a strict QC process in line with AS 1199.1-2003 and consistently maintain a major fault rate of less than 1% across all products that we manufacture. Our QC team inspect goods at each stage of the manufacturing process from the initial sample, fabric, pre production, start up, inline, preshipping and upon delivery here in Australia.

With over a decade of experience, Stacy Mylrea just loves to be creative. Be it designing prints, working on product development or hand sketching. Using a mix of mediums Stacy’s experience covers a broad range of eclectic styles from children’s wear to high end boutique design. Her individual style brings a unique twist to contemporary designs and offers a creative flair that stands out from the pack. Stacy’s work has been featured on Abs’s Fashionista program hosted by Lee Ling Chin and has been twice finalised for Victoria’s innovative textile design awards. When Stacy is not creating from her home studio she performs as front person in a garage punk band, is cracking heads representing Australia on the international roller derby track and keeping one eye on her mischievous 2 year old son and two eyes on her even more troublesome husband.
